Marco gives the same speech with donors that he does in public, one Rubio advisor assured BuzzFeed. Im sure hes right. After all, when has Marco Rubio ever said different things to different audiences about his stance on immigration?
I do think its safe to say that Rubios choosing his words carefully on this subject, even among friends in private settings. All it would take to blow him up for good on the right is a hidden smartphone recorder catching him crowing about amnesty, and he knows it. Hes the safest pick in the field precisely because hes not prone to huge unforced errors.
According to a half-dozen Republican fundraisers and contributors who have been courted by the Rubio camp, the candidates aggressive advocacy for the Senates 2013 immigration bill has proved to be a substantial draw within the GOP money crowd and his campaign has shown little hesitation about cashing in. Even as Rubio labors to publicly distance himself from the legislation so loathed by conservative primary voters, he and his aides have privately highlighted this line in his resume when soliciting support from the deep-pocketed donors in the partys more moderate business wing
It isnt only committed Rubio donors who are swooning after hearing the candidates immigration spiel. Screw the Rube!
Amnesty yesterday, today, and tomorrow. No thank you.
Rubio IS NOW and will CONTINUE TO BE pro-FULL-Amnesty and pro open-borders. Anyone who trusts this despicable, duplicitous liar is a fool.
For conservatives, it's down to Walker and Cruz.
Cruz 16
The Cheap Labor Express does not want us to elect anyone who would stop the cheap labor importation/invasion they like to confuse with immigration.
Jebster appears to be flaming out, so Rubio is a good backup for them. An amnesty candidate is what they have paid for and what they expect to get.
I suspect that you and I have the same ideas re the uniparty, the dishonesty from the GOP on legal and illegal immigration, the collusion between the “two” parties, between the parties and business, the defeat of unionism, etc. Somehow it all fits together. And I have the same ideas, re CommieCare and the insurance business, and the lack of real opposition in implementing CommieCare from national politicians, the lack of any real action in opposing it from the exempt Congress.
I’d still take Rubio over Jeb or Krsipy.
If he is the nominee, I won’t sit home, I’ll pull the lever for him.
