Jurors in the death penalty trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on Wednesday were shown video of him making an obscene gesture as well as holding his fingers in the shape of “V” to a surveillance camera in a courthouse holding cell three months after he was arrested in the terror attack.
A prosecutor had shown a picture of Tsarnaev making the obscene gesture to the jury in US District Court in Boston at the end of her opening statement in the penalty phase of the trial on Tuesday, underlining her argument that he was “unconcerned, unrepentant, and unchanged” after the attack.

I’ve always found it interesting that holding up a finger is considered obscene.

Some will call me barbaric, unchristian, what have you. If someone is in your face unrepentant (and proud of what he did) , that person should experience the same pain and terror as his victims when he goes to his demise.

I’m confused..Its called “obscene” so I thought it was the middle finger..”
Now I read it was a “V” which requires TWO fingers..
The V sign is not usually regarded as obscene..
To be obscene in a British country the backs of those fingers would have to be facing the person/people “saluted’
So which way was his hand facing ???
