Ted Cruz On "Senator vs Governor"
Nuking Politics ^ | 4/22/15

Ted Cruz' frank treatment of issues stands as a welcome contrast to the poll driven sideshow offered by the left...

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

I do not care if Senator or Governor or a business person, I want someone who believes in America, respects the Constitution, and will secure the borders and kick out illegal aliens. Give us back our country.

TED CRUZ is DEFINITELY the MOST QUALIFIED TO BE POTUS
http://www.tedcruz.org/

Pretty impressive...
• Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 - May 2008, Cruz was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the entire country, not to mention the longest tenure in Texas history.
• Partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm’s U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice.
• Cruz has authored 80+ SCOTUS briefs and presented 40+ oral arguments before The Court
• Cruz served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States
• Described as a ‘superb’ constitutional lawyer, the man’s considerable skills and laser-like focus were on display for all when he took oily reptile Eric Holder by the neck and made him
answer the damn question.
• In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.
• Cruz presented oral argument for the amici states in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
• In addition to his victory in Heller, Cruz has successfully defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and the majority of the 2003 Texas redistricting plan. Cruz also successfully defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States.
• Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission
• Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign.
• Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation
• Ted Cruz is currently junior US Senator from Texas. In order to win the 2012 Republican nomination for the Senate seat vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison, Cruz had to defeat Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst -heavily favored/backed by the DC old-guard GOP- in the Republican primary runoff. In the event, TEA Party favorite Cruz crushed Dewhurst, 57-43%...
he then beat Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election by a similar margin, 56-41. Cruz is also endorsed by the Tea Party Movement and the Republican Liberty Caucus.
• AWARDS: “America’s Leading Lawyers for Business,” Chambers USA (2009 & 2010) “50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America,” National Law Journal (2008) “25 Greatest Texas Lawyers of the Past Quarter Century,” Texas Lawyer (2010) “20 Young Hispanic Americans on the Rise,” Newsweek (1999) Traphagen Distinguished Alumnus, Harvard Law School
• On November 14, 2012, Cruz was appointed vice-chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He is now spearheading efforts in the Senate to have root-and-branch...
Godspeed, Senator Cruz- I’m all in.

At last we have two, possibly three candidates that we can choose from. The sweet words from RUBIO is just that, sweet, sacharine words that mean absolutely nothing. As it stands now, we have TED CRUZ,and RAND PAUL, that are willing to buck the trend, and possibly a third candidate, SCOTT WALKER that appears to raise the ire of every body in Washington. Every time any one of these three speaks, every body in the Washington liberal “ELITES” have a complete nervous breakdown. They, the Washington “ELITES”, will defend their turf, to the last No Nothing voter. And, should any one of these three win, they’ll just bide their time, the same way they did when Reagan was elected. As soon as Reagan’s term was over, it was business as usual with Bush #1.

That is exactly why the Government needs to be thrown back into the 50's budgeting.
Bush' mistake to America was not cleaning out the trash in the Pentagon, IRS, and elsewhere.
Had he done that the results would've been forcing the Dems to crawl back clawing for
another fifty years.

Put the Patriotic back in charge and we'll see massive employment and fear
in the eyes of those who want us destroyed. And that also includes the fifth
column here on our soil.

I support Cruz, but the last decent president we had who was a senator (and not also a VP or Gov, etc.) was Warren Harding (he gets a bad rap in the history books, but he presided just fine.)

All things being equal, I’d go with a governor. All things are NOT equal, and I support Cruz as my first choice (with Walker as an acceptable second). Also, Solicitor General is a big deal. In a way, that position shows moere proof of deep comprehension of issues that U.S. Senator does.

Excellent post!

When I hear Charles Krauthammer dismiss “freshmen senators” off-hand, I want to strangle him. Governor, Senator, business leader, whatever.

It boils down to a profound little anecdote attributed, I believe, to Abraham Lincoln.

He was asked, “Who is smarter, a man or a woman?”

His thoughtful reply: “Which man, and which woman?”

Of all the candidates, Cruz has distanced himself above his competition by leagues. He has boldly faced down the progressive dems without regard to fallout. Most importantly he has jumped into the arena to face our strongest milquetoast RINO leaders, McConnell and Boehner, to name two.

His head may be bloodied a little, but he has definitely earned my support and my money.

Let’s saddle up!

Exactly. WHICH senator? WHICH governor? Anything the media say HAS to happen, simply doesn’t.

Cruz to victory!

Abraham Lincoln was merely a lowly one-term US Congressman, obviously not fit for any higher office /snark

Another thoughtful, well expressed response from Senator Cruz.
He has great conservative positions and the ability to clearly explain them.
Too bad that Mr. Bush couldn't even explain the few conservative positions that he occasionally had.
