Liberals Sputter As Scott Walker Proposes Bold New Immigration Platform

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a likely 2016 GOP presidential candidate, is marching forward with his bold new pro-American worker immigration policy. He’s not afraid to push for a legal immigration system that doesn’t box out American workers with a massive influx of inexpensive foreign labor.

After first rolling out his new ideas on Glenn Beck’s radio program on Monday, Walker appeared on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly’s show to further elaborate on how he hopes to protect Americans economically from special interests pushing for a massive influx in cheap foreign labor from around the world.

“When it comes to immigration, as a governor I don’t have any direct role in that—but having talked to border state governors and having talked to other people, seeing how screwed up immigration has become under this president, it was clear to me talking to them and listening on this issue, traveling to the border actually going there with the governor of Texas Gov. Abbott, seeing the problems there, yeah from my standpoint going forward we need to secure the border, we need to enforce the laws that we currently have with an e-verify system,” Walker said.

“You’re pretty much in line with the other Republican candidates on this,” Kelly asked as a follow-up.

“Well the one thing they’re not saying is we need to make sure as part of that any future legal immigration system that goes forward has to account for American citizens and the workers of this country and their wages to make sure that even with legal immigration in this country we respond to it in a way that doesn’t take jobs away from hardworking Americans,” Walker added, separating himself from the rest of the 2016 field.

Have you ever been informed about an idea and changed your view? Or were you born with the absolute perfect perspective on everything? Some folks admit they need to change...perhaps we need you as president...someone perfect.

I don’t see his remarks herein as treating of the illegals who are here, but more in regard to immigration in general. There have been periods of time when we curtailed immigration altogether. We should probably do that for the next ten years. Seal the borders, and then aim to kick out the leeches while assimilating those who want to work hard, fight for their country, and pay taxes like the rest of us. No one should be allowed to vote who is able-bodied and receiving federal handouts.

Personally, I do not recognize the 14th Amendment’s support for making the children of illegal immigrants instant citizens of the United States.

It does not have language that justifies this.

It’s time to have the U. S. Attorney General challenge that up the the Supreme Court. The Democrats don’t hesitate to take thing there. I know this has been settled by at least defacto acquiescence and perhaps even a prior ruling, but there are various angles that can be used to challenge this.

When a person is a citizen of a foreign nation, that person is not under the jurisdiction of the United States. They are merely temporarily here, and still fall under the laws of their home nation.

Sure they have to abide by our civil and criminal codes, but they are not a citizen. They can’t be tried as a traitor. They can’t be inducted into the armed forces through force. They don’t have a social security number. They don’t have any withholding if they are working. They do not support the nation through employment taxation. Their home nation can request them to be extradited.

They are not U. S. Subjects.

They are not our wards either.

We have commerce travel both ways across the border each day. What has this to do with illegal immigration?

He has stated he would find a way so they could stay.

That is him circumventing the laws of our nation, and the U. S. Constitution.

He is required to abide by the laws of our nation, and we have a clear cut immigration policy on the books today. It was passed by the Senate and Congress and signed by the President of the United States.

There is no legal provision for circumventing the immigration laws of the United Stats. PERIOD!

This is not for him to determine. He must abide by the law.

Do you have any idea what the legalizing of 30 million illegals will do to this nation?

In six years they can apply for and become citizens. Then the first round of chain immigration kicks in. If each brings in mom, dad, a sibling or two, their children...

Do you get the picture. If each brings in an average of five people, you do the match.

We are 320 million people today. In seven years, we could be 470 million people. In another seven years, we could be very close to 1 billion.

This this is just a simple thing we should write off and be nice about?

Immigration law does not need to fixed, it needs to enforced, then you will find it is adequate.

"“You’re pretty much in line with the other Republican candidates on this,” Kelly asked as a follow-up."

I don't find the remark you claim in the text. Rather, Kelly claims he is in line with the other Repubs. Can you point it out? If he does want to simply find a way for them to stay, then I am with you. But, I find him saying that the borders need to be locked down, the illegals should go home, the jobs go to the American citizens first, then if we need more workers they might let in a few, but only if it did not hurt the American workers. Are these not the case? And, if not, who is better?

I reference his (03/01/2015) interview here.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3281671/posts?page=2#2

It was in the first post you responded to. There is a video you need to watch. Read the information in that post and then watch the video.

Yes, sure, he says the border should be locked down. Almost everyone has said that for twenty years. That’s nothing new.

In the video interview, he says a way can be found to let them remain if they pay a fine.

As I understand it, and I believe it to be true, Cruz is more solid on immigration. He is the only candidate not to have supported an amnesty, or what some call an amnesty that isn’t an amnesty. (a throw-back to the McCain/Kennedy bill that Walker agrees he supported)

Thanks for posting the vid. Walker is obviously trying to shine everyone on. I am fed up with political dances around the truth. I flat don’t trust this guy.

DoughtyOne is nothing more than a lying troll undermining the currently leading conservative candidate.

He relies on snippets that exclude Walker’s clear statement that illegals should not get amnesty, even if they pay a fine and are allowed to stay here.

But, DoughtyOne just loves to make up LIES to support his socialist agenda.

Ted Cruz’s immigration stand is weaker than Walker’s

Ted Cruz wants to give illegals worker permits so they can stay here.

This is very close to my own position, except that we already have an immigration system and we need no legislation. We just need for those responsible to enforce the laws.

The support Ted Cruz for Attorney General! He can gut the ATF, reform the FBI and enforce our immigration laws!

I have seen a lot of people who claim to be Conservative come and go. I’ve seen the left lie with a straight face, and I’ve seen people who claimed to be on the right do the same thing.

For me to give a person support, I have to believe they are shooting straight with me.

If they say they are conservative and then back a filthy aging candidate that screws us every chance they get, I learn from it. If they lie about this person, I learn from it. If they say they are for illegals staying here and working with a work permit, and transitioning at some point, by they don’t support amnesty, I learn from it.

Then when another candidate does it, I recognize the SOS. It turns me off so fast it’s almost instantaneous.

This is what Scott did. He’s just another scheming individual.

I think Scott has done some good things. I was very happy with his actions against the unions, the Leftist recalls. I am proud of him for that. On the issue of immigration, he’s just not there.

It’s kind of sad actually. I’ve got no reason to not like the guy out of the gate, but when a guy tries to make a big deal out of a new immigration policy and his minions go out to fool everyone on the topic, I resent it. It’s dishonest. It wreaks of Leftist strategy. It’s almost as if Rove were in there urging him on.

It really grates me.
