Obama ,the accidental American, while at at odds with the values, heritage and aspirations of conservatives at Free Republic, was elected to represent the values and aspirations of a depressingly large percentage of Americans who agree with the third world dictators.

Here in my children’s Catholic Blue Ribbon High School in the middle of the country, the liberal theatre director is staging the 2009 broadway revival of West Side Story this week. In this musical, there is a rape scene where the youngest member of the gang the Jets is thrown on top of the character of Anita in a gang initiation rite that is only just interrupted by the character of Doc. Now, it’s bad enough that a Catholic high school is staging a rape scene, but add to it that the group perpetrating the assault are the white American boys and the victim is the poor immigrant girl.

Now when was the last time we saw a news story where a white american male teenager raped a hispanic girl? Instead today I read of an illegal immigrant raping a 10 yo girl in Washington State. When a Catholic school in the conservative heartland perpetuates the lie of the white american male as evil is it any wonder we ended up with Obama?

You correctly identify an example of the ideological malaise, that has resulted from three generations of Leftist thought becoming increasingly dominant in much of American "Higher" Education. The theatre director was probably indoctrinated in College with the mythology that blames rooted Americans--and indeed the West generally--for all the problems of the Third World, and minorities here at home. This is illogical and nonsensical; but on many campuses the students are too cowed to even challenge the anti-American, anti-Western, fantasies being promoted.

I have tried to take it on, head-on, as it were. But it is like trying to hold back the ocean with a sand embankment. Eventually, the tide will turn; but it is a real question what will remain of the heritage achieved over scores of generations, when it does.
