Benjamin Netanyahu just made the single best argument EVER for the Second Amendment

He’s just so awesome.

During a recent address to the IDF General Staff Forum leading up to Israel’s independence Day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, “the meaning of independence in my eyes is the ability to defend yourself.”

I get it, you get it, and Prime Minister Netanyahu gets it. Our founding fathers got it.

And now, the American public not only gets it but is standing up to preserve our individual rights to defend ourselves.

The Washington Times reports, “exactly two years after President Obama’s bid for gun control following the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting died in Congress, a new poll has discovered a huge shift in public opinion to backing Second Amendment gun rights and away from controlling gun ownership.”

“The reason: Americans now believe having a gun is the best way to protect against crime, 63 percent to 30 percent.”

“Pew Research Center found that while support for gun control once reached 66 percent, it has dropped to 46 percent while support for gun rights has jumped 52 percent, the highest ever in the past 25 years.”

“We are at a moment when most Americans believe crime rates are rising and when most believe gun ownership – not gun control – makes people safer,” said the survey.”

Pew attributes this significant change to Americans fearing crime, but they also point out that crime statistics are declining. I think they’ve got it wrong. Americans don’t fear crime; they fear the government. Americans are wary and weary of the Obama administration making every effort to curb our ownership and possession of guns and ammo.

The NRA just had its second largest convention ever. Its membership is up to five million. People don’t join the NRA because they fear crime. They join the NRA to promote responsible gun ownership and to protect their Second Amendment rights. Obviously more and more Americans are concerned about any more attempts to keep them from defending themselves. That’s a good thing.

Indeed .... I hang up or ignore calls from outside my contacts list. Especially pollsters ! I don’t understand the science behind polling but consider a poll on political issues done in Chicago to be as tainted and biased as if it was taken in my Texas Panhandle.

Good post !

Stay safe !

“can you own a gun in Israel?”

Yes, but it is difficult. Most guns are owned by the government and issued to citizens.

I recall one Israeli said: “I don’t see what the big deal is about owning guns. If you are going to a rough part of town, just stop by the police station and have them issue you one for the trip.”

Israel started out as a socialist state, and is still far more socialist than the United States.

“I think they’ve got it wrong. Americans don’t fear crime; they fear the government.”

Actually, what they fear is the crimes committed by the current criminal government.

can you own a gun in Israel?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The liberals seem to have ruled gun laws in Israel, but that is changing, a fact that Nethanyahu seems to be pointing out as necessary.
