"It’s a common “awareness” campaign. I was in Ohio last year this time and a minor league baseball team did it. Had a guy try to run bases in heels. No big deal. Nothing sexual, or deviant about it. Nothing to see here."

Oh, yeah, guys in women's pumps...perfectly natural. Cute, even! Why, what normal conservative male wouldn't agree with you? /S

She is now a major general. She was promoted not long ago.

I disagree. This is not a “common awareness campaign”, and this isn’t some minor league baseball team.

This is the U.S. Army.

Since when do we need an official mandate from upper echelons to let the troops know that rape is against the law and against the UCMJ (for whatever that stands for now)

When I was a young man, I knew that rape and sexual coercion was wrong. I had a mother and father who taught me values, and I sure didn’t need a commanding officer to make me wear damned high-heels to make the point.

And even IF these cadets/recruits are of such low moral fiber, due to whatever rationale one has to pull out of a hat, broken families, degenerate society, whatever you choose, this isn’t how you do it. You tell them they will be subject to the laws and regulations of the service, and that there will be no tolerance of any illegal conduct, and any infractions will be punished fully to the extent of the law under the UCMJ.

And then ENFORCE the laws. THAT is how the military should be run. Not some ridiculous “awareness campaign” if that is even what it is, since I believe it is INDOCTRINATION in the most damaging aspects.

This is a disgrace, not “nothing to see here”.

They are not talking about "rape". They are talking about "sexual assault". If a man has sex with a woman, where the woman has had enough alcohol to be in any way considered "impaired", then in today's Army the man can be charged with sexual assault.

I understand the distinction you make, in that even the accusation, or even the implication that sexual encounters might not have been consensual are brought to the level of sexual assault, or rape.

For the point of what is going on here, I don’t see a difference at all between any of these ranging from inference of non-consensuality and outright rape, and instead I am focused on the approach to the issue.

Also, it is my belief that the powers that be want to blur the line to to point of non-existence between the inference of non-consensuality and outright rape.

They want both to be used exactly the same, as a tool.

well I contacted my reps and asked that the entire ROTC command be fired. Not just the commanding general, all officers O6 and above at ROTC HQ need to be fired. Jailed would be better.

You are so wrong. This is an attempt to humiliate men for being men. The commanding officer is sexually assaulting all the men under her command by forcing them to ware sexually humiliating attire. Remember Abu Grad(sp?).

Further the order to ware the sexually humiliating attire is an unlawful order since it is against Army (and all other services) regulations for members of the Army (and all other services) to ware any part of the uniform and not be in uniform. You can not ware just part of the uniform you must ware all of the uniform and those shoes are not part of the uniform!

If I were Gen Lesbos commanding officer I'ds court marshal her ass and throw her in the brig for a long long time.

Utter silliness. 1 billion more important things to worry about. And your comment ignores the hundreds of social organizations, frats, and ball clubs participating in the same event. Like i said, nothing to see here.

Thanks, so did I... but there still needs to be some major attention - like Rush or Levin - as someone earlier in the thread said. I believe this will get the attention it deserves... yes!

So your argument is that “everyone does it”. That my friend is a very very weak argument.

Once upon a time many years ago I was in the ROTC and I recall some very specific and strict prohibitions about participating in political demonstrations of any kind in uniform. Now it's mandatory?

General Combs has not been given her say and so I shall not blame her yet, but this is absolutely disgusting, degrading, and deliberately humiliating. And I'd say the same thing if the cadets were women. There needs to be a top-down purge of the PC in all of the armed services and it needs to be ruthless and complete.

They ought to make the Colonel who made this damnable decision wear a tutu with his boots. And if he refuses, bust his a$$ down to private.
