See, this is one reason I personally wouldn’t get a really small dog. They don’t realize they are at a disadvantage in situations like that, because they still have the same protectiveness and loyalty of a full size dog, so that can get them in trouble.
Well until he died last year we had a Beagle named Buddy who was not afraid to mix it up. One night a coyote came out of the bushes and Buddy went into full bay and charged him. That coyote beat feet back into the woods. We do have to be really careful with the smaller dog even though she is ferocious. LOL!
