Its just wrong not to pay people their Social Security INSURANCE after years of being forced to pay premiums. The reform proposals I've seen DO NOT suggest NOT paying people their SS. Rather, they're talking a mix of raising the retirement ages and delaying payments, increasing certain taxes (like removing the cap on SS taxes), or even apply a means' test to those with other sources of income.

apply a means’ test to those with other souces of income.
Which, translated, means not paying people some or all of their SS money.

It's the "means test" that's just wrong. If people paid in equally, their payouts shouldn't be based on anything else. As far as raising the amount SS taxes are paid on? To be fair, that would have to involve paying out on a higher base, thus helping those who had higher incomes during their careers.
It's not basic Social Security payments, which are suppose to provide nothing more than a base income to keep Seniors out of poverty, that can't be paid for. It's all the extra stuff that's included and that the gov has spent the money on things besides its intended use.
