What possible gain would the Saudis get from damaging the United States?

We were standing between them and Saddam Hussein.

I do believe that Saudi nationals were involved, but that doesn’t mean the government of Saudi Arabia was. If that logic holds water, the Bill Clinton was the guiding power behind Tim McVeigh.

We had about 20,000 Saudi students in country on education visas in 2001. Today we have 30,000 in country.

We know of 19 people involved in the 2001 effort. If Saudi Arabia was truly behind this effort, there would have been literally thousands of active agents here.

IMO, this is a misguided bunch of noise.

...not so quick.
There are lots of idiots pointing to the systematic collapsing of the floors as if they had been imploded with explosives. To me this is one of their key cornerstone and basis for their arguments. I think it is entirely possible simply for the reason we have been employing them as janitors for years. It is VERY conceivable that they loaded up the buildings to coincide with the greater attack thereby insuring the trade centers did come down with huge loss of life.
The muslim conspiracists want to blame the CIA. They want more self doubt in place. It’s a beautiful propaganda tool.

ME? I’ll blame the muslim janitors who had carte blanch access to the towers.

and

I’ll blame each and every one of obama’s supporters.

Look up Rebekah Roth on Caravan To Midnight. Ten of the supposed hijackers are still alive as of 2009. The cell phone calls could not have been made while the planes were above 3ooo feet.

A plan to substitute explosives loaded planes for passenger planes was hatched years ago so the way to get the substitute planes in line with the transponder signals was well planned. A nationwide spoofing of the radar centers during a 'drill' was in place on 911, preventing interceptors from targeting hijacked planes until well after the last one was disposed of.

Traces of the lomh cell calls have been made and they all originated through a certain tower in Northeastern Pennsylvania, near a reserve airbase with a very large NASA hanger at the end of the runway off ramps.

BUilding seven was not hit by a plane and was a controlled demolition, as admitted twoce by Larry Silverstein. To set the charges for such a perfect drop would have taken weeks and could not have been done during a rahing fire int he building ... it like towers 1 and 2 came down at freefall speed, impossible in a pancaking unless the floors are all in freefall, to break each free not impacting one into the next.

But these 'anomolies are a taboo at Freerepublic, so I won't go further. I'll be surprised if my post even remains a few minutes. There is an essay via my profile page.

There are about 30 pages of the government 9/11 investigation that have never been released. Once in a while a politician will call for the pages to be released, but it’s never happened. The thought is that those pages document the Saudis’ involvement in 9/11.

That is what the war was about—protecting the Saudis, the Gulf oil states and Israel from Saddam Hussein and his marauding army.

I do believe that Saudi nationals were involved, but that doesn’t mean the government of Saudi Arabia was.

But doesn't the government of Saudi Arabia massively fund the madrassa schools where extremist wahhabism takes root?

The government of Saudi Arabia is absolutely complicit in creating Islamic terror. It just likes to remove itself by a degree or two to maintain a veneer of innocence.

And a veneer is all it is.

hi DO, we debate again :)

What possible gain would the Saudis get from damaging the United States? --> In 2000 Bush was not bothered with foreign adventures and under Clinton, the Iraq mess was left to smoulder. The Saudis would have seen no action and definitely had nothing more to fear from a defeated Saddam. I don't believe the Saudi government was behind 9/11, but don't put it past some Wahabbi crazed princes from doing something

We were standing between them and Saddam Hussein. -- Saddam was weakened heavily in 2001 -- the Kurds were practically independent and the Shias were stronger. As we now know, in the late 90s he realised that his earlier hardline approach against jihadis (and yes, he was hard against Sunni jihadis, Iranis and the Wahabbis before 1991 -- that Gulf War one was a colossal mistake in my humble opinion) and was turning to political Islam (his lieutenants now purportedly lead the Islamic State's strategy)

We know of 19 people involved in the 2001 effort. If Saudi Arabia was truly behind this effort, there would have been literally thousands of active agents here. -- When we say "Saudi Arabia" remember that it is ruled by a family of literally thousands of princes -- all with money. These are tribal entities. We can probably say that the King at that time was not involved, but not much more
