Amen bro. It sickens me to think I work at a church where we coddle and pamper able bodied young men who are down and out drunken sloths who refuse to work or whose wife kicked him out of the house for being a drunken sloth who refuses to work. I still haven’t seen how this honors Jesus when the Bible itself tells us if a man doesn’t work he shouldn’t eat. And it also says we should have nothing to do with a man won’t work. Disgraceful.
I have a friend, a solid Christian conservative, whose twenty year-old son lives at home. He works part-time jobs, and is in and out of college, taking a class here, a class there, then dropping them when he decides he wants to do something else.
This young man leaves messes all over his parents’ house and refuses to clean up after himself. My friend and her husband actually clean his room on a regular basis. When the father loses it and yells at his son, my friend quails in horror...she just can’t bear the idea of her husband yelling at her boy.
She complains to me all the time about the situation. Then, when I tell her I would take all of his stuff and dump it in the driveway, and tell him it’s time to get a job and make his messes in his own home, she takes offense.
