Really? The DVM killed the cat. As someone noted down thread, accidents happen and sometimes cats get out.
It's going to be interesting to see how the DVM assessed the cat was feral. Doubt she'll work with companion animals again. And she may find that some customers wherever she works don't want her on the farm if she works in large animals/small ruminants.
As an aside, as someone jokingly mentioned down thread as well, not only women have cats. Males have cats, too. Mine go outside to exercise but have a fenced in area (6' chain link with a netting to prevent them from climbing over the fence, and then only when I am out with them).
You need to put a collar on your cat if you care for it. The vet thought she was killing a feral cat. I can understand that. I can’t understand any cat owner who won’t collar their cat.
