When humans and their four-legged, furry best friends look into one another's eyes, there is biological evidence that their bond strengthens, researchers report.
Oxytocin -- the same hormone responsible for helping mothers bond to their infants -- increases in both dogs and their owners when they maintain eye contact, the Japanese scientists found.

If Lily were vicious or suffering, yes, I would be sad, but I understand her being put down. After recovering from the parvo, she has been very healthy. At six years of age, she is in the prime of her life. Now, because god has not provided me with income enough to provide for the dogs and me, I don’t see any way out for the dogs.
I really don’t care how much god wants to hate on me, but the dogs? That’s not fair! He took my mother when I was 13 and father a 20, leaving me with a debt to pay for his funeral. Fine, god can continue to hate on me as much as he likes, but save the dogs, they ARE my family.
If god were as ‘just’ as he claims, he would focus his punishment and revenge on me, NOT the dogs. I believe that Calvin was right. Before we are born, we are predestined for heaven or hell. Even if we believe, if we are predestined for hell, we have no control and he won’t bless us. Period. Yes, that is based upon three years of hell on earth after divorce and layoff and now, bankruptcy, foreclosure and loss of pension.
I had a Corgi mix. My uncle said he was a dog and a half long and a half a dog tall. I have always remembered that. It still makes me laugh.
We got our first Corgi 20 years ago...haven’t been without at least one since.
O know dogs are wonderful animals. I just cant take the smell.
If puppies and kittens looked like banana slugs then we would kill them.
