When humans and their four-legged, furry best friends look into one another's eyes, there is biological evidence that their bond strengthens, researchers report.

Oxytocin -- the same hormone responsible for helping mothers bond to their infants -- increases in both dogs and their owners when they maintain eye contact, the Japanese scientists found.

"Certainly, people who suggest their dog is part of the family are probably quite right,

The kind of dog face that melts the heart.

It’s God’s reminder in a dog of God’s unconditional love.

Could they be part Mastiff and part Lab? They look like a bunch of sweeties who all have a LOT of growing to do.

I am likely to be forced into bankruptcy and foreclosure in the next month. Parting with my ‘kids’ will be the hardest part, especially since Lily is not well socialized, due to forced isolation as a puppy, recovering from parvo-virus. Humane Societies in Calgary and nearby towns all tell me they would just give her a needle and put her to sleep.

Ain’t god’s love grand?

Do you need a dump truck load of dog food to feed him ?

Just be careful there are certain medical issues associated with Great Danes , they sometimes have problems with their colons twisting and cutting off the blood supply.

You and your vet need to keep a eye on that.

German Shepards tend to have problems with their hips and spines.

Some breeds tend to have problems with spleen cancer.

It is hard to say exactly what they were. Someone dumped mama off while she was clearly expecting pups.

She was a very friendly, sweet dog and I couldn’t imagine someone dumping such a good dog. She had the pups on the coldest day we have had in maybe 20 years. It was 12 degrees and she had them under a lumber stack in a large open barn.

It looked like there was no way to get them out but I finally saw a place where I could just reach them. Just as I got 3 or 4 out and placed in a pickle bucket, she began to put them back. I finally got them all in the bucket and she appearing very upset went along with me keeping her nose in the bucket.

If it had not been so cold I would have just left them where they were but I put them in the garage with a door just open enough where she could go in and out. I put the pups on an old blanket and she apparently decided that was a good place as she left them there until they got large enough to get around on their own.

There was one, not in this picture who looked a lot like a bull mastif and several looked like American bulldogs. Some looked like labs. I kept one who looked like his Mother and he was a great dog.

We had surgery done to our black German Shepard back in 2012 prayed to God to save him from cancer, but God only gave us 14 more months with him until back in 2013 he had spleen cancer.
We had to put him down the same hour we got the bad news.

It hurts deeply, even until now, but I am not bitter towards God because of it.

Lost my mom 6 months later from kidney disease and from a heart attack.

Lost my mom last year about this time in April.

Both are in a better place safe and secure..
