It’s literally pass the buck, just like how employers who hire illegals dump them and their illegal families (schools, medical care, etc.) on the taxpayers. Or how Walmart has their employees signup for foodstamps, etc.
We’re paying for everything for everybody. Does no one realize this???
Really going after people that hire and rent to illegals is the only real way to put a damper on that. No one wants to propose that.
There is an argument for this one, its the same as for the EITC which was a Reagan thing and popular with Republicans in to 1990s.
The argument goes that it helps unskilled people gain entry to the job market where they can advance, as opposed to increasing minimum wage and other $$$ mandates.
What annoys me is when its proposed as part of a amnesty package as with the Rubio, Durbin Schumer bill.
The issue here is that their jobs at that ranch may be more hazardous that most other jobs, and that the others in the exchange health care pool must pay for it.
I don’t know if they are really are hazardous, that business is regulated.
Its the opposite of auto-insurance here where they based their premiums on risk, except obviously race, sex, LGBT status, etc.
