Barack Obama a failure on world stage
The Australian ^ | 17th April 2015 | Graham Richardson

Posted on 04/16/2015 2:55:21 PM PDT by naturalman1975

There is a question I keep asking myself — is Barack Obama to blame for failing on virtually every front imaginable? I want the answer to be in the negative so badly that I fear I may be shutting out an ugly reality. Domestically and internationally, the US President’s policies have been a mix of brilliance and failure.

On foreign policy I had hoped for so much from him. After an inarticulate fool such as George W. Bush, the world deserved something special from America. At the time of his election Obama was the answer most of us were seeking.....

It is hard to avoid the assessment, however, that too many of the carefully crafted words were hollow. Obama squandered the capacity to inspire and revealed to all of us that his talk was cheap. When the crunch came he just couldn’t walk the walk.

The world is a far more dangerous place after six years of Obama as President. That conclusion is pretty damning.....

Syria and Iraq are even worse examples of Obama’s foreign follies.....

Across the border in Iraq, it took an age for real American aid to reach the Kurds and the Yazidis. Why was coming to their assistance such a difficult decision? When innocents are being raped and slaughtered, should pandering to the delicate sensitivities of the Turks, or a corrupt government in Baghdad, merit any consideration at all?

.....

The man who came to office on the back of “Yes we can” may leave Washington with the historical judgment “We could have, but we didn’t!”

Graham Richardson is one of Australia's most prominent left-wing political commentators (as may be evidence from his early comment in this article about President George W. Bush). He was a senior figure in the Labor governments of Prime Minister's Bob Hawke and Paul Keating in the 1980s and 1990s, serving in their Cabinets for most of the period between 1988 and 1994. For him to be writing this type of piece about President Obama shows that the man is seen as a failure in office by large sections of the left wing around the world.

Was going to read the entire article but the comment on Bush put that to rest.

A lot of leftie journalists will have this “aha!” moment in the next few months. Barack the First is a lame duck failure, and there is nothing he could accomplish through lawful means over the next two years. It can’t hurt to finally criticize the loser in our White House.

It helps for the future though. It’s the journalists’ chance to regain some credibility. “See, I can criticize both sides. Pay no attention to the fact that I start criticizing conservatives before they declare as candidates and start criticizing liberals after their last election. I’m still even-handed, sort of. That means you can trust me for the next election.”

I expect many left-wingers to condemn Obama now that the proof of his failure is undeniable, and then endorse Hillary who'll promise a new direction and more effective leadership.

Yeah that inarticulate fool did a whole lot better than wonderboy. If wonderboy had just kept the troops in in Iraq and left his hand off the Arab Spring. Oh, also there is no excuse for the radical changes in the ROI in Afghanistan and announcing the unconditional end to the American help there.

I was going through some old e-mails and found this in a June of 2011 posting. The original is quite long so I only took the first quarter of it (remember this was in June of 2011 and it has been downhill ever since). If I had his e-mail address I would send the entire thing to the idiot that wrote this article.

If George W. Bush had doubled the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had criticized a state law that he admitted he never even read, would you think that he is just an ignorant hot head?

If George W. Bush joined the country of Mexico and sued a state in the United States to force that state to continue to allow illegal immigration, would you question his patriotism and wonder who’s side he was on?

If George Bush had pronounced the Marine “Corps” like Marine “Corpse” over and over again in a speech to the Marine Corps would you think him an idiot?

If George W. Bush had put 87,000 workers out of work by arbitrarily placing a moratorium on offshore oil drilling on companies that have one of the best safety records of any industry because one company had an accident would you have agreed?

If George W. Bush had used a forged document as the basis of the moratorium that would render those same 87,000 American workers unemployed would you support him?

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a TelePrompTer installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in New York City, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given England’s Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this
Embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the nonexistent “Austrian language,” would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

On January 20,1961 President John F Kennedy put the world on notice that we,the United States, would "support *any* friend, oppose *any* foe" (and yes,he did emphasize the word "any").

Our Community Organizer-In-Chief has openly, and defiantly, tipped that promise on its head.

When the crunch came he just couldn’t walk the walk.

Many of us foresaw that when we listened to Obama announcing his run for the presidency.

I remember posting in the LIVE thread, 'who is this guy and who are his backers, because someone doesn't just wake up one day and decide to run for the presidency?'

When he announced he was just days away from 'fundamentally changing America', many of us knew what he meant, even though his sycophants and compliant media tried to tell us otherwise.

The scary part is that he still has about 20 months remaining in his 2nd term to do substantially more damage.

Yep. Ignorance on display. Nothing he could say after that remark would interest me.

BTW, there’s an article at American Thinker today by Jack Cashill titled “What the Unearthed 1995 Video Tells Us about Obama” that further reinforces the fact that Obama is a golden tongued reader, but an incoherent babbler off-TelePrompter.
