“Everything’s stolen out of this home right by us. Mold all over the wall in the kitchen. There’s absolutely nothing in the house,” said neighbor Bill Carpenter. “But no one’s doing anything.”
It’s not the only home that’s had problems. Around the corner at 10323 Dunbar NW, there’s a vacant home that once had a collection of beehives in the backyard. It’s been in the foreclosure process for a few years, but is not yet bank-owned, according to court records.
Around the corner from that home is 10335 Durham Street NW, a home that’s been tied up in the foreclosure process for a year and a half. The loan servicer, Wells Fargo, says they came by a few days ago to maintain the yard. Yard maintenance, though, isn’t stopping plants from growing out of the pool.

Perhaps. I really suspect that a local home owner decided to get rid of the property.
It's not as bad as Cleveland, St. Louis and other areas overrun by Obama's sons. But it has it's own flavor with many tattooed types from south of the border or released from the local hoosegow flashing gang signs and looking for folks that may have dissed them (real or imagined) so they can retaliate.
Law enforcement in ABQ has a two pronged problem - they are under staffed by a couple of hundred and now the DOJ and locals have them on a tight rope because of well-publicized incidents of police shootings.
There’s places you want to avoid, but all in all it’s OK. They filmed the bad stuff in bad neighborhoods, and a lot in the SW part of town.
Oh yes, the scene of Walt in the rural bar (supposedly in NH) was filmed in a roadhouse about 1/2 mile from me.
Actually, they are building with 3 and 4 units now.
I lived there for a couple of years, you can definitely feel a dangerous vibe there. I love NM but I can’t say I ever felt “safe” out past dark in ABQ. Nothing ever happened to me but, like I said, just something you feel in the air.
My neighborhood is nice enough. No really serious crime (Vandalism, occasional car break ins). I had a neighbor he was nice enough We helped each other out a couple times (helped fix each others garage doors for one thing) But I knew something was up as he always had money and yet didn’t seem to work. He was good dad to his two little girls, but one day I came home to take the Mrs to the doctor and it looked like they were filming COPS nextdoor to my house. They had him in the back of a patrol car SWAT, Feds, patrolmen all over. He came home about a week or so later had an ankle tracker, but continue to be a fair neighbor and helped with watching for vagrants in the empty houses. Yet a couple months later I came home from work to find the scene from COPS repeated they had him up against a car when I pulled up. His wife moved out a few months later and the house has been empty since must be at least 3 years now. I guess it was a case of him not taking a dump where he lived.
And I'm sure "Mr Carpenter" has no idea where it all went….
There was nothing in the house across from me. I am sure it was all stolen or broken, but I couldn’t point to anyone and say they took it.
Soon, all these homes will be filled with 20-30 families speaking Spanish . . . or probably Arabic,
It might be part of the plan. "Preserving our neighborhoods, welcoming our new neighbors."
Besides, it also sticks it to those predatory lenders. Class warfare points all around.

It's funny, here in my neighborhood, it's new construction. I see many of these women on the neighborhood Facebook page talking about how they are having people come out and do energy audits on their homes because their electric bills are running $1-1,500k or more a month in the peak months. They are trying to blame shoddy construction. LOL.
No morons. You bought a 5000 sq foot house on two floors in the desert with a gov't that clearly told you eight years ago that your energy costs were going to "necessarily skyrocket".
That's why I bought 2800 sq ft on one floor--I KNEW what was coming.

I tend to agree. Seems like the phrase “long term” for most people today is next week - not next year or in five years. Maybe if we have enough Detroit’s it will happen but I’m not counting on our Congressional leaders to do anything positive about the situation.
