He has spoken to people involved in the investigation. Friends of his. They said that the FBI actively thwarted efforts for a true investigation. Like I said, it’s anecdotal, yet credible.

During the investigation, holes were discovered in parts of the aircraft skin that penetrated from outside in — evidence that an object, most likely a missile — had struck the plane. But when investigators began photographing that evidence, according to my former colleague who was there, the FBI told them to.

I happened to be in the green room of the Fox studios in Dallas as they were salvaging the wreck -- when some footage grabbed my attention.

The crane mounted on a barge brought up a large section of fuselage with a row of windows in it. The inside was first visible, then it spun around so that the exterior became visible. There was a hole below the window line, about the size of a pie plate, slightly off-round like a round object penetrated the skin slightly off of perpendicular. On the exterior, around the perimeter, the skin was smoothly pressed inward. On the interior, the edges had been visibly extended inward.

Like a 12-inch wide round projectile had entered the fuselage at that point. There was no sign of any explosion, however.

There was no mention of the image from the TV. Presumabably, the commentators weren't watching their monitors (or some other image was on them).

Never heard anything about it from any source. But I saw what I saw.
