Waaay too early to start crossing candidates off my list but this should serve as a shining example of what the media intends to do in order to get Hillary elected. In the grand scheme of things, gay marriage is the least of this country's problems but conservatives are more than willing to take the bait put out by liberals. Look at the list of subjects covered and yet what does the media want YOU to focus on?....

Rubio, though not in my top 3, did fine with his answer. But the candidate I am looking for will figure out how to shoot down the left's red herrings and focus on the real problems this country faces. Unless we have a president who will stand up against the very real threats of a floundering economy, illegal immigration and Muslim Extremists, getting married will be the least of the gay community's problems. Hell, it will be the least of Christians' problems as well.

You are correct. Rubio no business playing ball with the media when they start asking these irrelevant questions. The fact that Rubio 1. didn’t swat the question away immediately, and 2. chiose to give an in-depth answer indicates that he is either 1. clueless and/or 2. willing to cooperate with the media. This simple event speaks volumes. Rubio is NOT the candidate for me. So far it is Cruz.

...gay marriage is the least of this country's problems...

Tell that to the Supreme Court.

Cordially,

I do agree. I am a Barry Goldwater type or if you will, more of a South Park Libertarian/Conservative. Legally, the matter is left to the State or the people themselves, preferably the latter. Really, the matter does not bother me, I have gay friends who gotten married and I wish them well although on a personal level, I prefer traditional marriage. On the other side, no one should be forced to go against their principles, if a baker does not want to make a cake because of their convictions, then they have that right, the same if the situation was reversed. I think the pushing from all side should stop and everyone respects everyone else's convictions and accept that, accept that people have varying opinions and views. No one should be demonized be they religious, gay, whatever.

That said, you're right, these issues are basically yelling "squirrel" in the movie "Up." Even my gay friends think that way (their favorite animal is squirrels, BTW) about it. We need to work to find the common ground, I pretty much have, where we need to focus on the real issues, the economy, foreign affairs, energy policy, the erosion of our freedoms and so on. If we see one mushroom could above one of our cities, or worse, several, I doubt things like who marriages who or what, who is sleeping with whom and what's next on the Kardashians will be so far down on the list, it will not even register.
