I understand the dislike. Is Okasha considered close to the government? It sounds to me like one man sounding off.
He’s protected.
He is described as an “influential TV personality”. In Egypt you don’t stay on TV if the government disapproves of you. This is a lot like George Stephanopolous saying “bomb Canada”. George is protected by the establishment. If he says it, AND he doesn’t get immediately slapped down, then you know something is going on.
Like when he asked about birth control in the debates. Made no sense until we saw that was a major theme of the Obama campaign.
