‘Texas sucks’: Greg Abbott strikes a nerve after asking Obama to ‘stop trashing America’

Uh-oh! Texas Gov. Greg Abbott struck a nerve here:

In comments at the Summit of the Americas in Panama City, President Obama pointed out “dark chapters in our own [America’s] history.”

While criticizing the U.S. in comments abroad doesn’t sit well with many Americans (especially when those comments are delivered in front of leaders of regimes that are human rights nightmares), Abbott kicked a hornets nest full of those who want him to leave Obama alone:

What “landslides”? Rather two elections wins because of “voter fraud”.

Wow, Rush is RIGHT about Twitter!

Not surprised. Got to remember that when “the adults” pretty much took over “Facebook”, using it to show-off their pictures of the wonderful grandkids, “the adolescents” decided to head over to “Twitter”.

I agree. Twitter is for twits. It is populated almost entirely with our cultural and political enemies. If you are in a position of responsibility please don’t get into the gutter with the twits.

Isn’t it racist to imply that dark is bad?

56/47 is almost a landslide, which I think is usually a 10 point spread.

2008 was 53% to 46%, 2012 was 51% to 47%.

Nor mine. I appreciate what you said, tho. I am a fan of both Pokes and Sooners and when they are playing each other, I root for the team representing whichever crowd I’m in at the time. Born and raised here, I just love Oklahoma.

As a proud alum of Oklahoma State University, please allow me to disassociate myself from ChristyLee12 and her remarks. Unfortunately, into every group, some liberals must be sprinkled. OSU is generally very conservative but I know for a fact the faculty has multiple socialists and some students just can’t overcome the daily brainwash. I suspect ChristyLee12 is a victim of the College of (mis)Education, definitely a nest of socialist vipers.

you’re dead wrong here.
sign on and link up w/other constitutional conservatives and get news and pass news around and rebuke the braindead when they invade.
and we can do the same blasting huffpoop, salon,KOS etc via twitter, as disagreeing in their echo chamber leads to being banned- but on twitter your message and links get out.

It’s not what you’re thinking.

Hmmmm. Thanks for posting this; it triggered my curiosity about that infernal RT I see on stories from Twitter. According to the Urban Dictionary it means (when used in a tweet) that it was a re-tweet. So, in reality, Abbott received a tweet from someone else, and he merely informed others about it.

Am I wrong here? I guess I’ll climb back into my cave and try to figure out the carriage return on my Smith- Corona. :)

What a GIF! We had something like that happen to us on the road between Silverton and Ouray, Colorado years ago!

Missed us by about 15 seconds!

Red Mountain pass is a no-no in the winter. Locals will not
drive it when snowing.

What did Abbott’s tweet accomplish? There was nothing new or substantive in it.
