New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez said Sunday that he’s pushing ahead with his legislation to give Congress a full overview of the Iran nuclear deal, amid purported pressure from the White House to stop his effort.
“I’m not backing off,” Menendez, a Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, told “Fox News Sunday.” “I honestly believe it’s a congressional duty to review any agreement that comes about.”
Menendez, a frequent critic of President Obama’s foreign policy, declined to discuss whether fellow Democrats or White House officials have asked him to stop pressing for congressional review of the framework deal reached earlier this month with Iran.
The United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, Russia, Germany and Iran have set a deadline of June 30 to reach a final agreement.
The Foreign Relations committee is set to debate and begin voting Tuesday on amendments to the overview legislation, which Menendez co-sponsored with Foreign Relations committee chairman Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

Menendez is the only Democrat I have any respect for. It’s not the first time he has stood up to Obama. Considering the folks who have been breaking the law for years that have not been charged by the Holder “Justice” Dept., I don’t think we can assume Mr. Menedez is guilty of anyting.
You might want to think about taking a vacation from FreeRepublic while you do some research on this guy. He's a crooked b@stard who was groomed by the Hudson County Democratic machine, has spent his entire adult life in politics, and never worked an honest job in his life.
He has a lifetime ACU rating of 8, and for the most recent year (2013) it was a 4. The only "conservative" vote he cast that year was for an amendment to the Farm Bill that limited the income level for farmers who can collect Federal subsidies.

In other words, he is exactly the kind of guy who should be point man in taking O to task. He’s a flaming lib. No partisanship charges can be made. He’s a part of their machine, and he knows it inside out. He is vulnerable, but corruption like that works both ways, because if he’s so dirty, how come he was one of the boys until he went after the magic Kenyan?

It's actually the other way around. He was only indicted recently, but these investigations and the stories surrounding them go back long before he "went after" the Obama administration.
It would be great to think that Menendez was thinking of the nation first...or at least of his grandchildren’s futures. Hopefully he isn’t just insisting on congressional review so that he can see to it that the danged thing is rubber-stamped in order to save himself from further persecution from the Democrat Party.
