“Enough libertarian Dems will cross over plus talking to a black audience gave him street cred”
One doubts that could ever happen.
Who cares what the Toesucker says
I think old Dick's brain was addled back when he was a Dem leftie. As a result, he must have one of the worst prediction records in all media.
No way in h-— can Paul win. He has an active base of mindless followers and his daddys mail list but conservatives will NEVER follow him or his loony base.
This is good news for Rand Paul as Dick Morris is almost always wrong. :-)
Rand Paul can bring in a lot of younger voters and some people out west would be very attracted to him. He would be aperfect VP nominee but not at the top of the ticket.
>>Paul as VP can push a Republican ticket over the top.<<
I think you’ve got a good point. The Democrat Party has shifted so far and so rapidly to the left under Pelosi, Reid, and Obama that it’s left a lot of traditional Democrats stranded in the middle of the political spectrum.
If Walker or Cruz ran with Paul as VP and both emphasized the issues they have in common (individual liberty, smaller government, rein in the IRS, etc.) and if Paul’s early forays into traditionally unfriendly territory were followed by visits by both candidates, such a combination might well start to pull votes from traditional Democrat constituencies.
I think Paul is a good addition to the candidate pool. It will be interesting to see how other candidates deal with his presence and his positions.
Agree, strike one, libertarian, strike two, crazy father in the attic, strike three, isolationist. your out.
Perhaps, but if he makes the changes, would his heart be in it or is it just a move for a win? I don't really trust him.
That’s hardly prophetic to say about any given candidate. Every candidate except one can’t win.
A worse omen couldn't arise.......
:-)
I hate to agree with Dick Morris, who famously predicted that Romney would win with 700 electoral votes and that Condi Rice would run for President and be the bestest ever, but I have a great deal of trouble envisioning Rand Paul winning a general election.
“In 1996 it was Steve Forbes”
FU Dick! FORBES 4EVER!!!!
I’m glad he said Rand Paul can’t win and not Rand Paul won’t win. Morris’s power of negative prediction is too intimidating. “Can’t” doesn’t mean he is inevitable, just that there is a possibility.
