California Officially Bans Hunters From Using Lead Bullets
The Daily Caller ^ | 9:21 PM 04/09/2015 | The Daily Caller

Posted on 04/11/2015 3:17:10 AM PDT by WhiskeyX

Environmental activists cheered the California Fish and Game Commission’s decision to adopt regulations banning the use of lead ammunition for hunting throughout the Golden State.

In a unanimous vote, the Commission opted to phase out lead bullets, which hunters groups are calling a de-facto ban on hunting in the state. Environmentalists, on the other hand, are saying these regulations will save California Condors and Golden Eagles from getting lead poisoning.

[....]

But conflicting federal and state regulations over non-lead ammo only bolster critics’ claims that the lead bullet ban is a de-facto ban on hunting. The federal government is preventing companies from making non-lead bullets, but California won’t allow hunters to use lead ammo.

It looks like a Catch-22 for hunters.

MMaybe it is time for all CA hunters to take a year off and not buy licenses, permits, merchandise, lodging and all of the other things that go into a hunting trip. Maybe the pols will see and hear the loss of revenue from this group.”

Maybe it’s time for California to declare war on Coyotes the number 1 predator and scavenger in the state.

“Are not non-led bullets “armor piercing” and thus “cop killers?””

I don’t think so. At least not all... You can buy bismuth bullets and bismuth is soft, it is pretty much nontoxic and is about 85% as dense as lead. I don’t think it’s that much more expensive than lead.

adopt regulations banning the use of lead ammunition for hunting throughout the Golden State.

So THIS is what they've been doing besides building desalinization plants......

.... the state of California can hang, far as I'm concerned.

Another theory of mine is the California coast line which at one time provided a rich source of food for the Condor has been so over populated that it pushed the Condors back into an area that can no longer provide for them.

A question for the enviro’s? If lead is killing the Condor’s why are the Turkey Vultures and Black Headed Vultures populations increasing, they feed on the same things the Condor’s do. The game ranches in Texas supply the local populations of Buzzards a steady diet of game taken by hunters, Feral hog’s are shot and left in the field by local ranches providing a feast for the buzzards yet the lead levels are not a problem here. I call the study completely bogus.

With the PD, City Hall, state congress critters and federal congress critters on the take MOB style, I don’t think that will happen.

This is the same state that has the LARGEST DEATH ROW Population who will die of OLD AGE before they every are eligible for the DP! Same state that lets prison inmates like charles manson get married. Has Conjugal visits, transgender sex changes ALL at tax SERFS expense. And the prisons and jails are so full 1 hr is enough time served to reach the over crowding regs for minor crimes. Like DUI, we have seen paris hilton get away with it on multiple counts.

In TN she’d be picking up trash on the weekends as a repeat offender. Minus her DL for a year.

There are fishing sinkers sold at wally world that are not lead. About 80% weight of lead and they rust. Cheaper than lead weights.

This is only the tip of the ice berg. I envision it will become law all across America before long. So far “gun control” hasn’t worked so the libs and environmentalist will continue to push for the complete elimination of all ammunition, eventually getting their way. The only good thing coming from their ban is that there will be a short term glut of ammunition for those of us who still CAN use and will buy bullets containing lead.

When/if we have to start hunting those who would take all guns and bullets from us, there will still be a few of us who have enough to fight with.

When the USA went on an anti-lead kick back in the 1970s we knew the ultimate end was to eventually ban lead ammo.

so why don’t we see lots of dead buzzards everywhere?
