It is hard sometimes to see how the end times of the Bible fit into our current days. One thing I am certain of, Jerusalem will never be nuked. The end times all takes place in that land. The antichrist sets up his kingdom sitting on the throne of King David, in the newly built temple in Jerusalem.

On the other hand there are passages in the old testament that state the land of Egypt will be inhabitable for 40 years. Ezekiel 29:9-21 And it also tells of Damascus, the oldest city, still not destroyed yet, becoming a ruinous heap. Isa 17:1.

Destroy Jerusalem, Dome of the Rock goes with it as well as Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Basically a nuke strike against Israel is war on both Judaism and Christianity, since Islam will see the Dome of the Rock being destroyed as something that Allah willed.

This means a strike will either be north or south. North and that destroys Syria and Lebanon. South and you take out Egypt. My bet would be south as it leaves a corridor for Iran to attack through Syria and Lebanon.
