You’re in favor of leaving vets in the communist VA system?

That was a brouhaha about nothing.

The scanner Bush was looking at was a brand-new TYPE of scanner. It didn’t need to be installed under a glass pane in the counter.

Of course, the lamestream press pretended he had never seen a scanner before.

Just as the lamestream press never told the public that the teacher handed Quayle a flashcard with “tomatoe” misspelled. Or was it “potatoe”?

“Doing that would create a lot of jobs for his favorite group of non Americans.

You know Private companies will actively look for cheap labor to fill these
jobs. I think we all know who these private companies will hire.”

That’s become the American way for some. Their philosophy is why hire an American when you can find an illegal Mexican or some H1B import that will do it cheaper. Then we other Americans can pay for the unemployment comp or welfare to the American worker or for the default of a college loan. If we don’t demand that the govt starts policies of putting the USA first who will?

There are country consequences when former US big business ends what they used to call “corporate citizenship”. When they became global they figured out “citizenship” is not important. They can go anywhere and hire anyone and still lobby our Congress for handouts and subsidies. They now even oppose the idea of sovereignty and special rights for Americans.

There was a time when privatization served a function of cheaper and smaller govt. Now I question that, and whether it presents an opportunity for crooked politicians to sell public assets for nickels on the dollar and get kickbacks to their campaign funds.

Government should get out of health care and insurance. Government health care is a horrible failure no matter where you look. People in the military face the same awful, 3rd world care that veterans get. The VA will only get worse, no matter how they try to fix it. Government can’t manage a 2-car funeral, let alone health care.

Taking care of Veterans is one of the few roles the Feds are supposed to have.
A better idea is to block grant the funds to the states and let them administer veterans healthcare, while the feds can handle the verification and approval part of it.

The fact that the feds are “supposed” to take care of the vets is irrelevant. The VA is socialism, and socialism doesn’t work.

I agree, but the problem is that he doesn’t mean it.

It would be hard to identify a single phase of medicine the VA can offer that’s superior to civilian hospitals.

The whole thing should be privatized.

Give each veteran a good insurance policy and close the VA hospitals. Bush's statement won't make me vote for him, but I couldn't agree more.
