The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office found drugs, guns and bullets in the vehicle driven by a 25-year-old Algiers man who was shot and killed by deputies on Monday in Algiers.
Desmond Willis was killed during a shootout on Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey. The shooting came as officers tried to arrest him following a traffic stop.
An angry Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand said Willis was part of an ongoing drug investigation. He started a news conference about the incident with a video of Willis talking about shooting police officers. Normand said the video speaks for itself and discredits what Willis' family said about him being good. "Now, not to be insensitive, but I'll be damned if this office is going to stand by and have its reputation impugned by people when this video is out there trying to pollute the minds of our youngsters in the community day in and day out," Normand exclaimed.
In the video, Willis said "f*** cops" and made references to drugs and running away from police.
Tuesday, Willis' grandmother tried to discredit claims by the JPSO that he was involved in criminal activity.
"Desmond was not a bad child and ain't nobody going to label him as a bad child and I'll tell that to the damn police," Barbara Jackson said.

Already happened here in NJ; they have no more law enforcement in the welfare hatcheries due to the racial politics of crime and the lack of funding, and when they stray from the reservations they end up in encounters with police.
There is probably no place where segregation is worse than NJ; it is the natural outcome of having two groups so far apart culturally. The mass influx of Asians and Hispanics is simply used to create a buffer zone between them.
