I carry a Glock into Krogers every time I go there. My RKBA is in no way lost. I use my "modern sporting rifles" for actual sporting purposes all the time. Should I need to use them for something more, they're available. Again, my RKBA is in no way lost.
Walking through Krogers with a "modern sporting rifle" only serves to solidify, in the minds of the public, the impression that they are not actually sporting rifles for sporting purposes but, rather, tactical rifles. There are no shooting sports in Krogers. period.
I do not wish to scare the public, which is known to be quite panicy and over-reacting, into Michael Bloomberg's and Rosa DeLauro's gun grabbing camp.
These rifles, while very well suited for various sporting purposes, serve another purpose ultimately and it is my intent to ensure that they are widely available should that need ever arise and I do not believe that that need has arisen as of yet incidentally.
This whole nomenclature debate is about nothing more than Crim's inability to lose an argument gracefully.
Is open carry legal?
Yes.
Has Kroger's publicly announced they will follow the law and allow open carry?
Yes.
Is calling a semi automatic sporting rifle an “assault weapon” a flat out lie?
Yes.
Are your panties still in a wad over it?
Yes.
If you were winning the argument you wouldnt have to resort to emotional histrionics or flat out insult other gun owners who are lawfully open carrying.
Yes.
I guess it all depends on one’s perception (the eye of the beholder). Some people feel that being brash or “out there” is the best way to express their freedom, others feel that it is impolite or somehow less than diplomatic to be as “in your face” to carry a “modern sporting rifle” in a public place.
In the end, there might just be tactical advantages to both trains of thought.
I agree there are a lot of hypersensitive people WRT firearms or anything resembling one...
My broader point is that if we don’t continue fight back against this insidious mentality, then we all lose - our rights start to crumble.
Sometimes using brash methods to combat a brash opponent (fighting fire with fire) is the best approach, sometimes cooler heads prevail. I just prefer not to use misconstrued language either way. The left has twisted the meaning of so many words that only an insane person can look at their methods (newspeak if you will) and believe they are at all interested in the truth.
you're the one getting unhinged about this...again. You went so far as to attack me in another thread over this. I was perfectly content to let it all go but you couldn't do that because "your panties are still in a wad over it".
If you were winning the argument you wouldnt have to resort to emotional histrionics
You are the one who repeatedly resorts to impugning my character with wild accusations and ridiculous insults. You are clearly the histrionic one in this disagreement.
Exactly what argument do you think you won?
I'm not going to rehash that argument. We have a disagreement. Let it go.
