The White House accused Republicans Monday of trying to undermine President Obama with their call for an up-or-down vote on any nuclear deal finalized with Iran.
"It's Republicans who have been most forceful in denouncing this agreement and those are the people I'm referring to when I say they're trying to use this vote as cover to just try to undermine the agreement," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.
Last week, Obama hailed an "understanding" with Iran that would lift sanctions on Tehran in exchange for the Middle Eastern nation curbing its nuclear capabilities.
However, Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., is attempting to forge a veto-proof majority in the Senate on legislation that would allow lawmakers to have the final say on a deal with Iran.
The White House insists that such a bill could effectively kill the nuclear deal and is scrambling to convince Democrats to refrain from supporting the legislation as the administration attempts to finalize the arrangement by the June 30 deadline.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
So when did the White House start speaking?
Adolf had people trying to ‘undermine’ him too.
and thats bad ... how?
Is a Congressional veto override considered undermining the President?
Is a Supreme Court ruling considered undermining the President or Congress?

HEY O’BUMMER, YOU LOST!!
Deal with it.
And if only it were true.
In a country with a reasonably fair media, you might actually see that quote somewhere besides FR....
“The White House accused Republicans Monday of trying to undermine President Obama with their call for an up-or-down vote on any nuclear deal finalized with Iran.”
Those damned republicans and their outdated constitution. Dont they know the president alone can tie us to deals with foreign nations?
UNDERMINE???? What the hell. The purple lipped blue gummer resident should be horse whipped. The only undermining has been from the racist, antisemetic white hut crowd.

Unless I'm mistaken, they have the final say on this anyway. Under the U.S. Constitution, that is. Advise and consent?
Let’s call it STOPPING.
Let’s be clear. The Republicans have really not criticized the particulars of this deal at all. The White House is creating a straw man here. The Republicans have simply insisted on having a say...for the most part. It is an intellectually vapid argument on the part of the White House to say Congress shouldn’t have a say.
Funny, I haven’t seen them stop him on one single thing. In fact they’ve funded it all.
