Tell that to someone stranded in the middle of a desert heh.

You’re right though. Since I have been working outside more often, I am getting more vitamin D, I have been pretty healthy.

Vietnamese women assiduously hide from the sun, covering up completely when outdoors. They grow up hearing from their mothers that they must not let the sun touch their skin or they will turn black and never get a husband. One woman I had known for a few years got a lot of colds and flu all year long. I sent her a year's supply of the vitamin D gelcaps at 20,000 micrgrams per day. She went that year with no virus at all. I told her about sunshine and she was hesitant, not wanting to turn black and never get a husband. She married finally and I discussed it with her husband. He said he would rather have a darkskinned healthy wife than a pale sick one. Now she gets sunshine and no supps and no virus.

The unanticipated side benefit was more significant for her than the dearth of flu. She had been severely manic depressive and anorexic since puberty. After the year was up she realized that she had missed a year of violent mood swings and was eating normally. I had seen that in the tenor of her emails but had not thought anything of it. I researched it and found out some authorities think that Sunshine and vitamin D are the best and perhaps only effective treatment for most depression. Think: winter blues.
