Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq futures all careened down 1%

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) —Spring may be here, but the U.S. economy and corporate America are stuck in winter mode.

When the stock market opens Monday, trading could be brutal. The economy added a mere 126,000 jobs in March, according to the latest data that came out Friday. That was a huge disappointment.

The markets were closed for the holiday weekend, but boy, did things get ugly in the futures market. The Dow, S&P 500 and Nasdaq futures all careened down 1 percent.

Hiring had been the one really bright spot in the economy with the U.S. averaging over 250,000 job gains a month for about a year.

And then March hit.

Don’t panic yet. The folks at CNN Money need to get out of the market first.

i’m expecting gold to pop in the early hours and then tank when the US market opens as the fed dumps its gold contracts for a loss (they’ve been doing this for 4+ years... easy when you print the money)

Frankly, I couldn’t really care less.

We as a nation deserve judgment.

I pray God preserves His remnant, but the way America has embraced the stealing of private property, the murder of the unborn, and the perversion of God’s plan for family, it seems to me every day we aren’t blasted with fire and brimstone is stunning to me.

My own sin deserves punishment; I pray for His forgiveness daily, too...I wish my nation as a whole would do the same.

SP Futures traded for about 45 mins on Friday and in that time fell 20 points (actually 19.75 SP points) which we equate to roughly -140 to -200 DJIA points figuring on 7-10 DJ points per SP point.

That said, the ES/SP is sitting at 2039.75 3 pm CA time (down its 19.75 from Friday’s open) and I would bet you one sugar covered donut that the first thing you will see upon their reopen in one minute from the time of this post is minimally a 6+ point positive ramp.

lame to hope and wish for the world as we know it to end....

why not fight the good fight?...

why give in to Satan's power by not even trying to fix our ills?....

is this what Jesus would have wanted? just hopping for the end to come?........for people to stand around and do nothing, say nothing???

HE really expects us to be engaged...to do something...

I don’t think the Fed buys or sells gold or gold contracts. I could be wrong, of course. Now, the Treasury is, from time to time, very active in the gold market. Did you mean the Treasury rather than the Fed?

the fed

they buy gold contracts in the late afternoon at market.

if they think the dollar is going to take a hit, they sell gold contracts in the morning for a loss to keep the dollar up, relatively.

they don’t care about the loss, as they just print the ‘money’ (i know the treasury actually prints the money, but the fed is the source)

all that matters is keeping the dollar from collapsing
