I remember from the MIG 17 days reading that the Paks preferred Soviet/ChiCom systems because they were easier to maintain/modify than their western counterparts.
Must wonder if all the electronic & weapons gizmos have changed that relationship.

Of course, spares availability and price are always the deciding factor after about a week of operations.

The Pakis have been using Chicom weaponry for over 50 years now and even integrated European/US subsystems on them. Some of their J-7 (Mig-21 clones) have Italian radars and Sidewinder missiles.
