In a negotiation, both sides 'get' something.

The negotiations had nothing to do with Iran getting or not getting nuclear weapons -- on either side. Iran may already have them. Iran may still be 2-5 years away. Nothing agreed to in "the talks" changes, or will change, the reality.

The negotiations were about, and achieved, two things: 1) For Iran, it allows them to escape from sanctions. 2) For The US, it allows Barack 0bama to escape the domestic public humiliation of retreating from a bright line he himself set.

Stupid, uniformed people believe something was accomplished. In fact, only political appearances, and NO strategic realities were changed with respect to Iran.

But don't think Pooty-Poot and the folks in Eastern Europe and the Baltics don't know what happened, and don't think it wasn't noticed by Japan, Taiwan, China, and every other country connected by the Pacific Ocean. The next question is how a thoroughly defeated United States -- interested in nothing but flimsy appearances -- figures into the calculations of our enemies and erstwhile friends.
