I hope youre right, that your faith in the Republicans to do the right thing is correct. However, that opportunity for an AG to keep the pressure on and not let this slide would be at least three years from now assuming that a Republican was elected president. (A doubtful assumption given the present demographic and social realities in the country.)
By that time a GOP AG gets into office, many other political and legal events will have transpired and DOJs attention will have likely shifted to other matters. Lerner will be old news and nobody will be interested in re-visiting this tired scandal in my opinion. Also, the media would disparage the motives and personalities associated with any such investigation. And, given the terrible state of the country, a Republican president would have a lot more problems on his/her plate to work on and would probably not want this distraction. Again, I hope that you are right as the IRS certainly needs a good housecleaning. But three years will dim the eagerness to resurrect the Lerner scandal.
I didn’t say I have faith in the republicans.
I thought you said when we have a GOP appointed AG. I equated GOP to the Republican Party.
Many good people were in favor of extending immunity to this gangster... I was - and am now - against it.
What is needed in this case is an independent prosecutor! A special prosecutor can bring prosecutrial pressure on people to either give over or go to prison. This will never happen because no one in Washington cares enough to make it happen. Same with Benghazi. Same with Fast and Furious.
I have been saying for practically 20 years that we are ruled by an oligarchy... the proof of such is becoming overwhelming!
