In the State of Washington you can shoot someone that is going to commit a felony against you or anyone else if you are in a place that you are lawfully allowed to be. I wonder if that could be used to claim that the drug dealer defending himself was not lawfully allowed to be in his home with two pounds of pot?

And this guy is the son of the Canadian Consul to Florida? Do they have them in all fifty states? And who gets North Dakota?

The Government of Canada has 16 (1 embassy, 12 consulates general and 3 trade) offices throughout the United States to provide services and resources to Canadians and Americans.

A link to where they're located.

Our Offices in the United States

North Dakota would be handled by the Consulate General of Canada in Minneapolis.

A quick look on line answers my question regarding the drug dealer, Mr Rodriguez.

Florida Statutes

Title XLVI, Crimes, Chapter 776, Justifiable Use of Force

(1) A person is presumed to have held a reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another when using or threatening to use defensive force that is intended or likely to cause death or great bodily harm to another if:

(2) The presumption set forth in subsection (1) does not apply if:

(c) The person who uses or threatens to use defensive force is engaged in a criminal activity or is using the dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle to further a criminal activity

Essentially, if you are engaged in criminal activity, you don't have the legal right to defend yourself.

Mr. Rogriguez better call Saul .
