The only chances I get are when we all go to Maine to see Ms. B and when I see the Gulf of Mexico with the TexasCowboy crew. :)
I am about 500 miles from any water larger than a lake. We have NO lakes in my area. Too dry.

Yes, I do love being far away from the mainland urban cesspools. Would not have minded retiring to the mountains somewhere well away from any cities, but the wife hates cold.
Getting stuff shipped here is a $$ killer.

It is Hawaii! The most remote island chain in the world. Luckily I am not on the same island that contains Honolulu, which is just about as bad as many mainland urban areas.

Honolulu is what we all visualize, but I know that there are other very lovely and peaceful places there.
We have a FRiend who lives there.
