New Justice Dept. policy allows authorities to seize suspicious bank accounts

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has crafted a new policy that would allow government officials to seize bank accounts involved in financial structuring schemes prior to filing criminal charges against the individuals who own those accounts.

The new policy stems from the Justice Department’s ongoing review of its asset forfeiture program. The policy is aimed at preventing criminals from making a series of currency transactions under a certain monetary threshold in order to evade reporting the transaction to the authorities, according to a department statement.

Those types of transactions typically lead to “the most serious illegal banking transactions” and occur “in connection with other criminal activity,” the statement read.

That reminds me, do we not have a DOJ AG right now or is Holder in hiding, busy shredding incriminating documents in the DOJ basement? He’s mysteriously low profile right now, similar to how Hillary was for many months recently. We KNOW what SHE was doing during her absence.

You can use a Miracle Whip jar but some people will mock you for it because it is not REAL Mayo...

You’re right. I remember that now. The guy said he was flagged because of the $ 10,000 limit so it sounds like a similar program.

Of course this has nothing to do with his new ruling that banks must report deposits of $5000+. Naw, move along, nothing to see.

Thankfully I have nothing for them to steal. Most of it left during this wonderful economy. Some of our favorite talk show friends will need to watch their funds.

I was never paid in cash, so I don’t understand how that would work for most people.

‘suspicious’ ... as deemed by 0bama and crew

‘were you at a TEA party rally? that’s suspicious!’

‘do you support lower taxes? that’s suspicious!’

when did we sign over access to our finances to these people?

You can use $10s, but you have to put them in a jar of Hellman's Light.

CWII Spark Ping — If they do this on any sort of scale, there WILL be repercussions; yet I fear that this is merely an extension of “asset forfeiture” and will be used gradually until there are people defending it as legitimate as well.

Do you assert that congress has any limits whatsoever? (Hint: ‘Yes’ is considered suspicious.)

So, if the Bank Secrecy Act was passed in 1971 ....

Using Tom’s inflation calculator with the (gamed) CPI;

$10,000.00 in 1971 dollars is $59,638.82 in 2015 dollars

We’re define criminality down.
