There's something very dangerous happening in states across the country.
A wave of legislation, introduced in more than two dozen states, would allow people to discriminate against their neighbors. Some, such as the bill enacted in Indiana last week that drew a national outcry and one passed in Arkansas, say individuals can cite their personal religious beliefs to refuse service to a customer or resist a state nondiscrimination law.
Others are more transparent in their effort to discriminate. Legislation being considered in Texas would strip the salaries and pensions of clerks who issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples — even if the Supreme Court strikes down Texas' marriage ban later this year. In total, there are nearly 100 bills designed to enshrine discrimination in state law.
These bills rationalize injustice by pretending to defend something many of us hold dear. They go against the very principles our nation was founded on, and they have the potential to undo decades of progress toward greater equality.
America's business community recognized a long time ago that discrimination, in all its forms, is bad for business. At Apple, we are in business to empower and enrich our customers' lives. We strive to do business in a way that is just and fair.
That's why, on behalf of Apple, I'm standing up to oppose this new wave of legislation — wherever it emerges. I'm writing in the hopes that many more will join this movement. From North Carolina to Nevada, these bills under consideration truly will hurt jobs, growth and the economic vibrancy of parts of the country where a 21st-century economy was once welcomed with open arms.

The thing that drives me crazy about you Apple cult members is your refusal to recognize that there are other very good products out there. Apple is not the best at everything, except for marketing obviously.

With Apple getting 93% of the profits in the Smartphone Market in the USA (and that’s for all other smartphone manufacturers, put together) ... I would say that it’s you that doesn’t “get” what customers are buying as “GOOD PRODUCTS” ... LOL ...

Something seems odd about your posts. While I can understand someone not particularly caring for Chick Fil-A, I can’t see a reasonable person calling their food “Crap Product” when compared with others in the fast food space. Your indignation makes me think you are a rabid Apple fan that is feeling butt hurt by their constant liberal leanings and you are having trouble reconciling it all in your head.
Thats what makes this “piece” hilarious.
Look at how many times he mentions Apple and it’s policies. This isn’t really an opinion piece, it’s an Apple advert wrapped in social commentary to get free space in the WaPo and free press everywhere its posted, forwarded to, discussed.
But just the other day, you were telling me how if you post something on a thread, people get to reply to it. What changed?
I think I have clearly “reconciled” how the different pieces fit together and have explained them about as clearly as one can.
I buy products for what they do, and try to get the best products around. I do my politics at the ballot box and help support different candidates per their conservative position. And then I give support to organizations, based on “money for nothing” (namely not in exchange for products, but giving them “money for nothing” evidencing the support).
I would say that’s a pretty concise reconciling as one could have.
As far as Apple products being good, I’ve listed that on my Freeper page for years ... I guess you’ve never noticed.
As far as Chick-fil-A ... it is a crap product, because I’ve tasted it and think it’s crap. I gave them three chances and I won’t be back (not unless they announce a COMPLETE CHANGE on their menu and say they’ve done away with their previous recipes ... then I might try them again).
I don’t base my buying decisions on whether I like someone or don’t like them. I might have a relative that I like and I might think he paints a CRAPPY OIL PAINTING! I might REALLY LIKE HIM, but I’m not going to buy his CRAPPY OIL PAINTING.
I keep those things separate!
