STEALTH ASSAULT: Republicans are quietly strategizing to delete gay marriage from the party’s [tr]

Late last summer, with midterms consuming the attention of the political class, a group of GOP activists spent two days in Des Moines trying to convince their fellow Republicans that change was coming to their party. With eyes on 2016, they attended the Iowa State Fair, talked with newspaper editorial boards, and even ventured onto conservative talk radio. To cap it off, on the last evening, supporters gathered at 801 Chophouse, the upscale watering hole of the city's political elite, as if to announce their movement had gone mainstream. That it couldn't be dismissed as fringe any longer.

So much for the original GOP Platform of "(i) is the duty of Congress to prohibit in the territories those twin relics of barbarism, polygamy and slavery."

Actually the people have spoken on gay marriage.
Problem is;
The politicians and the courts have over ruled the people.

Why don’t these sodomy marriage supporters (read stealth Obama supporters) delete themselves from the GOP while they are about it?

The Republicrat Party must get the two branches in synch.

The Dem branch has a different platform than the Repub branch.

If the GOP abandons the Traditional Family Values platform, it will become like the Whigs, and a new party will arise to take its place. That party will also attract disfranchised Democrats and those who long for truth.

The Republican elite are terrified of the press, and so they conclude that to avoid that, they will not believe in or take a stand for anything. Therefore, they won’t be criticized by the press. It’s that simple. There real beliefs are all liberal, anyway.

Sure is. I can’t even get a response from our state rep as to why Georgia will not pass a religious-freedom bill. Just ignores me.

Republicans cowering in fear from the Big Anus lobby?

Is there any one or any thing that the GOP doesn’t cower in fear from? At least this will telegraph once and for all that Christians and people of faith are no longer welcome in the Republican Party.

If the GOP ditches opposition to fag-marriage in their platform, I can make a vow here and now that I’ll never vote for another Republican again, big office or small.

There is no such thing as “gay marriage”. It’s same-sex marriage and the people involved don’t have to be gay.

If you want to create an uncontestable transfer of assets, marriage is the best way to do it. I imagine in a few years, it will be more common than gays getting married. If you marry your hunting buddy, your ex doesn’t get squat.

I know someone who is going to do this. He hates his ex-wife but he knows she and her lawyer hubby will contest the will and chew it up in court. She also HATES his hunting buddy. He marries buddy and buddy gets the acreage and cabin where they hunt along with everything else.

As he puts it “All she gets is mad”.

The very first thing the Republicans should “delete” is the use of the word GAY in any other context than its original meaning. Yes, homosexual and sodomite are longer, queer is offensive, but you cannot allow the opponent to frame the discussion.

HOMOSEXUAL, because there’s nothing GAY about it.

No surprise Michigan RNC committeeman Dave Agema has been warning that the party was lying about it all along.

I think they should ignore it completely. Leave it to the states to handle and you take away the lefts biggest weapon, polarization. I would also take abortion out of the agenda. If you take it down to the local level, that’s where Conservatives are strongest. That’s where we will win the war.

Cruz’s platform of Family, Faith and Freedom should be the only thing talked about and in a positive way. That’s the message the entire Republican party should coalesce around.

That’s a winning strategy.

The more these things are left to the states the better. Sure there will be a few socialist hellholes but we can strengthen our control in the conservative states.

Also, this will be abused by people to get spousal insurance benefits through the government or their employer. I expect to see more and more “marriages” to maximize financial benefits etc. Soon I can see relatives marrying each other to for insurance coverage. What will stop them?

Fascinating. Excellent take and excellent result.

It happened to someone I know. Her husband divorced her and remarried. Then they separated. When he died suddenly, the second wife got everything. His son got nothing.

Luckily the grandparents stepped in.
So make sure you remarry before you die.
