I would wager that the Palistinians would vote to be part of Israel. Gaza was a thriving community, now look at it. Arabs do well in Israel. I don’t really understand why there’s been in my lifetime so much concern for a Palestinian state. What is the real issue here.

If Obama pulls this stunt I think you are going to see the demise of the democratic party, which is already on the decline. Just look who they’ve go running for offices.

Years ago, when Arafat was still alive and kicking, there was some talk of land being set aside for the Palestinians and all Arafat had to do was sign it and he refused. (I cannot remember the particular details, unfortunately - it just struck me as completely odd).

It was one of those "what-the-hell" moments. They have been griping and whining and bombing to get their way and Arafat turns his nose up at it. It was almost as if with all their yammering and bomb-throwing, a land of their own is not what they really want.

We are seeing the last generation of white liberal leadership of the Democratic Party. The dems long ago committed to identity politics as a device to mobilize a majority-minority base. And they have labored long and hard to turn the country majority-minority as well. But the aging white liberals are dying out and will not much longer control what is now primarily a black-Hispanic coalition, with the unions and militant feminists thrown in.

The big question for America's future is whether Hispanics, and especially the Hispanic leadership, will look at what the dems' dependency/vote buying agenda has done to the black community, and decide that is what they want for their own future. The jury is still out. The current black political model will appeal to corrupt leadership elements who view government as a kickback and protection racket to enrich themselves. But if the Hispanic leadership actually wants progress for their people, they may draw other conclusions.
