If you can get a good steak on EBT why would they ever got off of it.

Then there are the ones with smartphones who walk out to $20k cars. She thinks about a third of them are working under the table.

Those EBT customers probably have kids who couldn't bring a so much as an 89 cent can of corn to school for the food drive for the underprivileged without expecting a bribe in return. I wouldn't do it, but some teachers did.

There is something to be said about people who refuse to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate when they themselves have had so many helping hands extended to them.

I'm with you. Maybe not on specifics, because of my cooking degrees, but on NO CASH on EBT.

Food only, selected by a nutritionist to fit (generally) the family.

They should want to get off it, without killing them outright, as quickly as possible.

No cash, no steaks, nothing but healthy food that will keep them alive.

You must mean the WIC crowd.. Around here anything that loosely meets the definition of “food” can be bought with an EBT card.

OF course they are working under the table, on their backs or selling illegal products.

And that new benz is not in their name the smart phone is prepaid and they “forgot” to report all the gold they are wearing.

Enforcement of welfare rules is almost non-existent.

Story from a grocery store checker I know...

Lady comes in, buys $10 of groceries and gets $100 CASH back using her EBT card. Goes to another checkout line and does the same. Rinse, repeat. The checker telling me this story was new on her job when this happened. On her break she tells her manager about the EBT lady. The manager said there was nothing they could do about it, i.e. it's within the rules. This was a few years ago so perhaps it's changed but I doubt it.

Oh heavens they can’t do that! They gave them EBT cards to help stop them from being embarrassed at the checkouts!

“Sattler plans to use the money to help pay for his nursing school”

What? You mean hes not demanding that his employer pay him a living wage of 100 dollars an hour? Hes just using this job as a springboard for bigger and better things?

Sheesh, these kids today. Whaddya gonna do?

Wow, what's a custard cost if the kid was $2 short?

Go to McDonald's and get an ice cream for a buck. It's all chemical crap anyway.

I don’t get why if the mom had a hundred bucks she let the kid go up to the counter with less than he needed....

I was wondering the same thing.

Freddy’s steak burger is in California Now, there are 2 in Bakersfield and several in the LA area.

They are MUCH BETTER than In-n-Out, their burgers are better and so are their fries.

Why do we have to go to overseas media to get our news be it good or bad?

When my Niece was about six, we bought her an Ice Cream Cone at an independently owned place..

You guessed it, the first lick and the Scoop of Ice Cream hit the floor. No five second rule with the Wife standing there. LOL

She stared at the now empty cone and started sobbing. The girl behind the Counter just looked at us. She didn’t even offer to replace the overpriced Scoop of Ice Cream, nothing.

I cleaned up the mess on the floor with some napkins and paid for another Scoop, in a Cup this time around.

Never frequented that place again.

MY favorite trick. When we see a little old lady dining by herself I tell the waiter to give me the check and tell the little old lady it was from a secret admirer.
