Whew....there are some pretty angry/hateful comments here about Gov. Pence & the State of IN. There's this one guy who is trying to defend IN's RFRA, maybe he could get a lil back up if you know what I mean....

THIS IS PUBLIC. MIGHT AS WELL POST IT:

“The game of basketball is grounded in long established principles of inclusion and mutual respect. We will continue to ensure that all fans, players and employees feel welcome at all NBA and WNBA events in Indiana and elsewhere.”

“The Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever and Bankers Life Fieldhouse have the strongest possible commitment to inclusion and non-discrimination on any basis. Everyone is always welcome at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. That has always been the policy from the very beginning of the Simon family’s involvement and it always will be.”

The Indiana law says (note the quotes) “a governmental entity may not substantially burden a person’s exercise of religion”. No matter how the LGBT Lobby chooses to mischaracterize the law, that is the language. Nothing more. It reinforces the First clause of the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. Nothing more. Those who protest the new law are expressly saying that they WANT government to “substantially burden a person’s exercise of religion”. The LGBT Lobby WANTS to force people of faith to serve, against their will. This is NOT Freedom. This is about CONTROL (and revenge, methinks). Those who support the LGBT stance here should also support government forcing black people to serve at KKK rallies, forcing LGBT supporters to serve Westboro Baptist Church funeral “protests”, and forcing straight fathers to serve NAMBLA meetings. It is EXACTLY the same. If they don’t, then they no longer care about Equality. So which shall it be, LGBT folks? This is the choice that you have created here.

Did you ever think that a governor would have to pass a law designed to restore religious freedom?

I hope the politicians remember this the next time they look for tax money to build a new arena.

I will never pay so much as a penny to see these morons play or buy even one cent worth of their childish merchandise.

The NBA is dead to me. To hell with them all... players, coaches, owners.

I’d be willing to bet that if the State of Indiana threw the Pacers out of the state, they’d see a huge drop in the crime rate. They should give it a try.

I don't have a problem with this statement. Nowhere in their statement do they condemn the law itself. They simply state what their position, in general, is.

This is what the new law was intended to do, protect the individual conscience. If you want to facilitate sinful behavior in your business, go ahead. If your conscience forbids it, you shouldn't have to.

Where IS the governor? Has he addressed this backlash? Did he not think there would be one?

Oh no, I just can't go on with my life with the prospect of a Professional "Thugball" organization leveling threats at a State that decides to "enumerate" the rights already provided to our citizens via the First Amendment! /s

Please, let them relocate or disband! PLEASE!

the homonazis have said their “rights” trump the First amendment.

Next the homonazis will demand churches to marry them and have the govt shutdown the churches which won’t.

It was idiotic backward of Pence and the state of Indiana to sign into law legislation that permits wholesale discrimination against gays.

At least the ELECTED LEGISLATURE passed the law—unlike the whims coming out of the blue from the Blight House without legislative authority.

I stand with Indiana...screw the rest of those anti-liberty totalitarians.
