Saudi Arabia refuses to rule out building nuclear weapons to counter Iranian aggression

Saudi Ambassador to US said they will take measures to protect country He said Middle East countries worried Iran will develop nuclear weapons Iranian officials are due to meet with world leaders for 'nuclear talks' soon Saudi-led airstrikes targeted Iranian-backed rebels in Yemen again today The Gulf nation wants to avoid potential attack from its southern border

Saudi Arabia will not rule out building nuclear weapons to defend itself against Iran, its ambassador to the United States said.

Al-Jubeir told CNN the 'kingdom of Saudi Arabia will take whatever measures are necessary to protect its security'.

Iranian officials are due to meet with world leaders to negotiate a relief in sanctions against the country in return for Tehran curbing its nuclear programme.

But Al-Jubeir claimed that other countries in the Middle East are 'concerned' about the prospect of Iran developing nuclear weapons. Saudi Ambassador said US President Barack Obama's administration has told them Iran will be 'cut off' from acquiring nuclear capability and there will be 'very intrusive inspections' to prevent such an outcome.

The Saudi ambassador added: 'I can't say that we like it, because we don't know the details.

'The assurances we have received from the administration have been positive but we want to see the details before we can make a judgement.'

Yesterday, Saudi Arabia and its allies in the region launched a series of airstrikes against rebel forces inside Yemen who they believe are backed by Iran.

Some experts believe the escalating conflict in the country is turning into a proxy war between the Saudi's and Yemen.

Referencing growing violence there, Al-Jubeir said his country is growing concerned about what he deems 'Iran's interference in the affairs of other countries in the region'.

Adding: 'We believe Iran's behaviour... is not reassuring to people in the region.'

How is not the onset of a nuclear WW3
instigated by the White Mosque
and its Nobel War Prize recipient (his only documentation)?

Obama = mini anti-Christ because he is a nuclear weapons proliferator. The last thing the world needs is more Muslim nations with nuclear weapons.

Ironically this same demon Omaba talks about cutting down the US nuclear arsenal. Same demon rattles on about the menace of global warming.

Obama has done nothing but create disasters and chaos in the world, and especially so in the Middle East!

Wonder what would be the effect would be if Saudi Arabia would announce that if the deal as negotiated by Kerry and Iran is signed, then Saudi Arabia will move immediately to acquire and deploy nuclear weapons?

Good point, but the present situation allows Obama to pretend there won’t be any proliferation.

The Independent (UK) published this today:

“Western intelligence agencies believe that the Saudi monarchy paid for up to 60% of Pakistan’s nuclear programme in return for the ability to buy warheads for itself at short notice, the Guardian newspaper reported in 2010.” http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/saudi-arabia-says-it-wont-rule-out-building-nuclear-weapons-10139229.html

And from the Wall Street Journal on 11 March:

“Fears of Mideast arms race heighten as Riyadh secures nuclear deal with South Korea” http://www.wsj.com/articles/saudi-nuclear-deal-raises-stakes-for-iran-talks-1426117583

That Article reports:

“In recent years, Saudi Arabia has also signed nuclear cooperation agreements with China, France and Argentina. Riyadh and Buenos Aires formed a joint-venture company, called Invania, specifically focused on developing nuclear power. “

I guess South Korea, facing a nuclear North Korea and an unreliable American protector, are covering their butts for the future with a nuclear weapons program as well. And Saudi Arabia is diversifying its sources to reduce their risk, and building a program totally under their control.

“In 2010, Saudi Arabia established the King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy, commonly known as K.A. Care. K.A. Care, a government agency, says on its website that it aims to generate 17.6 gigawatts of electricity using nuclear power by 2032, through up to 16 new reactors.”

Like the AQ Khan nuclear proliferation effort, different components (like enrichment) might be outsourced to other locations for a while, until a complete program can be established.

If you really think about it.... its kinda obvious the Saudi’s already have them.

We courted them for over 60 years, covertly giving them any thing they wanted no questions asked. The nicest planes, tanks, ships and technology. We gave the bomb to Israel, why not them? Their policies influence the economic stability of other nuclear countries who also want influence with them. Think Russia, China, Pakistan. They are Sunni Muslim, same as Pakistan. They feel threatened by a nuclear armed Iran enacting their millennia old goal of spreading Shia across the entire subcontinent. And last but not least, they are outrageously wealthy enough to buy anything they want. From scientists, to materials, technology and even complete bombs.

Of course they have bombs. Probably nicer ones than we do!

The Japanese will do it next. And they’ll have some nice shiny new nukes in less than 30 days.
