A number of Hollywood celebrities have taken aim at Indiana Gov. Mike Pence after the governor signed a religious objections bill into state law on Thursday.
Miley Cyrus, Ashton Kutcher, screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, and Broadway star Audra McDonald were among those who took to social media Thursday to decry Gov. Pences signing of Senate Bill 101, which forbids both the state and federal government from limiting a persons ability to exercise their religion. Critics say the law will allow Indiana businesses to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.
Youre an a**hole @govpenceIN, Miley Cyrus wrote on Instagram Thursday. The only place that has more idiots that [sic] Instagram is in politics.
Indiana are you also going to allow Christian establishments to ban Jews from coming in? tweeted Ashton Kutcher. Or vice versa? Religious freedom??? #OUTRAGE.
Legendary Star Trek actor George Takei had promised to boycott Indiana if the law passed, and urged his online followers to avoid attending video game convention GenCon, the largest annual convention in the state.
To the governor and to the legislators in Indiana who support this backward-looking and divisive bill, I say to you this: If it goes into effect, Indiana will be marked as a state where certain people are not welcome, and so we will not visit, Takei wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday. We will not spend. And we will not attend events, including GenCon, the worlds largest gaming convention, held in Indianapolis each year. Many fans here are gamers, Governor Pence, and we will demand the convention move out of your state.
The convention is reportedly under contract to remain in Indiana until 2020, and GenCon spokeswoman told the Indianapolis Star that it will honor its contract. However, she said the laws passage will factor into future decisions.

“Oh, my!”
The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.
I don’t even think he can qualify as cattle. He’s had one role his whole life.
Thank God he’s queer or we would never hear from him.
If you do, please have a square donut for me.
Is this the Film Actors Guild?
oh my....there are some things you cannot un-see!!
Yes, Boycott THIS!
Next great vacation spot!
I know a shocking number of people who are so incensed by this Indiana law...and all you have to do is say, "are not the rights of others equally important?"
They never have an answer for that.
This law will have about as much real impact on Indiana commerce as passing a law that says Kosher deli's can not be forced to provide patrons with BLT's at the risk of being sued. People need to understand that, kudos to Mr. 88 for the analogy.
Been sparring over this with a lib twit from “United Blue”, one of the Nutroots orgs, with thousands of followers.
Turns out she lives in Connecticut, WHICH ALREADY HAS THIS LAW.

Everybody is wrong:
The ignorant, overpaid, privileged, elitist, celebrities who think anyone should care what they think are wrong for even thinking that anyone would care what they think are wrong.
Anyone who says think that many times in one sentence (like me) is wrong.
The celebrates who think they need to have any opinion about the law in some flyover state they will never visit are wrong.
People who think that it is ever their religious duty as a Christian to be mean to people are wrong. There is already someone who’s job it is to tell sinners that they are not good enough for Go, that their particular brand of sin can’t be forgiven and they can never be reconciled with him. He doesn’t need your help. Maybe you could make the stupid cake, show them some kindness, let the love of Jesus show through you to a world desperate for it. Maybe that would be better.
The government is wrong. Just because they always are. The government can’t give, they can only take. So now what are the “unintended consequences” of this law going to be? Am I going to be standing by the side of the road with a dog and a bottle of sangria and some Muslim taxi drive doesn’t have to pick me up? There’s going to be something, guaranteed there is going to be something.
And Hillary Clinton is wrong, she is a polarizing, calculating, disingenuous, insincere, ambitious, inevitable, entitled, overconfident and secretive candidate. She will do anything to win She represents the past She is way out of touch.
“Legendary Star Trek actor George Takei had promised to boycott Indiana if the law passed”
And to think we had to lose Nimoy and keep this tard.
In 4 weeks, these freaks will have forgotten this existed.
Love your post - succinct, and so right, summed it up perfectly! Can’t believe how ignorant some of my academic colleagues are, LOL!
Oh, and gay people who try to force some guy who doesn’t want to make their cake to do it anyway are wrong too.
YEP! That’s the point! ; )
