NCAA Worried Gay Basketballers Won’t Be Able to Buy Wedding Cakes from Christian Bakeries in Indiana

How can they possibly play the Final Four without the assurance that they can violate the religious freedom of Christian bakers and florists in Indiana?

With the Final Four a week away from shining a spotlight on Indianapolis, NCAA President Mark Emmert said Thursday that the governing body for college sports is concerned about an Indiana law that could allow businesses to discriminate against gay people.

The law would prohibit state and local laws that “substantially burden” the ability of people — including businesses and associations — to follow their religious beliefs.

The NCAA offices are located in Indianapolis, and Emmert said the organization was concerned about how it might impact student athletes and employees. His terse statement also suggested the NCAA might consider moving future events out of Indianapolis.

“We will work diligently to assure student-athletes competing in, and visitors attending, next week’s Men’s Final Four in Indianapolis are not impacted negatively by this bill,” Emmert said, hours after Gov. Mark Pence signed the measure into law. “Moving forward, we intend to closely examine the implications of this bill and how it might affect future events as well as our workforce.”

Maybe Christians ought to do likewise when it comes to putting money in their pockets.

Here is a novel thought, ban college athletics and concentrate on academics.

This law has screwed up my plan to visit a Halal restaurant, order a Ham and Bacon sandwich, and get filthy stinkin’ rich from the lawsuit.

I AM NOT PLEASED...

But seriously...
What if I go to a Muslim photographer and ask him to take a picture of my dog and me eating a pulled pork sandwich and sharing a beer and he says no? Who’s being intolerant, him or me?

I had a case once where my client was the “other mother” in a same sex relationship and the issue was parental access. I told her up front that I was a conservative Christian and that I thought that this was a terrible way to build a family and that she could go to my ex-partner if she wished who was way left of Lenin. She said, “no” that she thought I was the better lawyer and a better person all the way around. The judge (also a conservative Christian) and I (and the other lawyer of course) discussed the fact that the issue revolved around the two young children and the fact that they were bonded to my client. But as far as cake and photos... not the same thing at all. Involves creativity.

Then go to bakers who aren’t Christian.

Good God, do we have to think of everything?

American history tells us that those in the slave territory South religiously accepted slavery.

Which organized religion did that?

I wonder if the NCAA is equally worried that not all hoopsters receive college degrees, or meaningful educations, after being used by the colleges to bring in gate and broadcast revenue.

Americas South was then, and now, predominately Christian.

I’m glad folks are finally getting it.
The homo rights movement has nothing to do with equality,
and everything to do with criminalizing Christianity.

It’s not about that. It’s about forcing their ideology on Christians and punishing anyone who will not celebrate their perversion of marriage.

Well, the Bible DOES address the matter of how a Christian master should treat each slave and how a Christian slave is to serve his master, Christian or not. Several times. In the New Testament also.
