Now I regret not going to starbucks and having the server write “race together” on my cup and ask me what I think of race relations in America, but I’m probably better off that it didn’t happen.

Sure, but before they do they should look at the results of Starbucks preaching about race. Didn’t really work out for them.

Random thoughts (based on this article; hat tip to Tom Sowell): -Well, actually, one could argue that religion is not quite the same as race. One is a choice, the other no choice (unless you're Michael Jackson). So in theory, race is not a philosophy, but a fact. I know, people make it political, which is a philosophy. -What is it with this "we need to have a discussion about race"? We ALWAYS endlessly “discuss race” - or at least, blacks do. And liberals. Any time it can be used to beat down Americanism. Anyway, it's all disingenuous, because it's whites that will not openly say what they think, because if they do (unless pandering liberal), they are vilified and threatened. Could be just the fact they feel threatened, and they are attacked for that.

Few people looking for as great chicken sandwich are happy to get a lecture, sermon or whatever this messaging might be.

Correct. Chick-Fil-A is a business, and they remember what their purpose is (save the cows!). Anybody can go in there and buy a sandwich.

It was the preachy culture that went ballistic on them because somebody in the corporate structure had donated money to a pro-family organization. Silly biddies! Corporate donations are for the Gay Mafia, and don't you forget it!

20 years ago Bess Eaton donuts in NE had biblical things on their cups and napkins. Don’t know now.

By the way, their donuts were bad. But brilliant idea, the drive-through donut place. Here in MD still we only have a couple drive-thru Dunkin.

Whatever a company’s policy is about what latitude they give their employees is their own business. Let ‘em preach about whatever they want, as we preach whatever we want from our businesses. I own my own business and I “preach form my chair” all the time. No one can stop me.

I preach on my feet too...

On the other hand, I do not allow my employees to preach anything contrary to my beliefs. They are welcome to discuss any topic that is decent to public discourse, but those parameters are defined by me also. They will have to gain their own venue if they want to preach contrary to my beliefs.

Starbucks’ CEO, however, should not be confused with those who preach normal Faith based concepts. Normal Faith based concepts are not based upon hatred of traditional values. The recent Starbucks gambits on race & homosexual “marriage,” are not comparable to Faith based concepts—unless arrogant Humanist/Egalitarian lunacy, which appears to be his mantra, can be so described.

You’ll be happy to know that a bible verse appears on each piece of packaging for In & Out Burger. :)

Pointing out the hypocrisy of the left is soooooo much fun - you can't expect us to stop that Mr. B.

This Starbucks fiasco's overflowing with hypocrisy from a white liberal elite in midlife crisis lecturing the great unwashed. It's juicy... way too juicy to pass up.

Well, as long as your motivations are for your personal entertainment, go ahead.

Just don’t ever expect them to actually get even a bit introspective about their worldview based on pointing out the inconsistencies thereof.

Actually - in real life - many of them are embarrassed. Even though they're liberals, they're still human... they bleed red - just like we do.

Pointing hypocrisy out to elite liberals has a long term positive effect but it has to be done lightly and with humor in the real world. Here - we can do it however feels good.

Yes, Christian corporations should give uplifting Christian messages in their advertising. They would be popular.
