In this day of video, cops shouldn’t swing more than once or twice at an arm or leg. Video gets out of you giving a wood shampoo, and you’ll end up at best unemployed, and at worse in prison. A whole lot better off just shooting the guy. Although there, your story needs to match any video that may turn up.
Yeah, no need for courts. Just shoot the ‘criminals’ in the street and be done with it.
