Ted Cruz's entire decision of whether to jump-start his presidential candidacy at the end of a fundraising quarter hinged on the ability to raise $1 million in the first week.

The Texas senator ended up hitting that milestone in just over a day.

This is a big deal folks, without getting into the weeds and the campaign, when the numbers get into the 7 digits that fast the candidate gets on the EGOP's radar as well as the political class. Solid infield double, sharp crack of the bat, can't wait to see Ted's next time up at the plate ;-)...

One article I read said that contributions of $100 and under accounted for 70% of that.

His fundraising success is encouraging, I helped with my own contribution.

There hasn’t been a candidate like Cruz since Reagan.

It’s a shame young people today have never been exposed to what true conservatism looks like in a candidate, but having a disastrous president like Obama should help make them more receptive to his ideas.

Ted Cruz is brilliant and dynamic, and understands the constitutionally limited role of government

I feel good about supporting him, not like I was with RINOS McCain or Romney. With them I had to hold my nose!

While $1,000,000.00 sounds like a lot of money, the Republican candidate will need to raise about $1.2 billion for the general election. To raise that amount in 19 months which is about 570 days, the Republican candidate would need to raise about $2,100,000.00 a day, every day, starting today.

Your statistics demonstrate that for a candidate who wants to promote traditional US values it can't be done with money. Besides that, anyone who collects those billions of dollars owes a lot of favors.

Cruz can get it done with an energized army of unpaid volunteers who believe in his message. To do that, frame the money others collect from big donors expecting favors as a negative.

Don’t be such a cynic. Cruz will gain all the political momentum he needs to gain all the money he needs. Look at Rubio. (Though Rubio turned away from the staunch conservatives who put him where he is.) This race has just begun. The other horses will prove to be weak ones, as Walker is already proving to be, switching positions whenever it’s convenient.

If it comes down to Cruz vs. Hillary, all the money on the face of the earth will not overcome Hillary’s excess vile and corrupt baggage.

I have every confidence when Kruz meets his detractors face to face, they will be clearly shown for what they are: Hillary a tired old serial liar: Our chameleon RINOs in the house and senate, simply lightweight political pawns, for sale to the highest bidder.

Have faith in Ted Kruz. Great faith. He is for real.

Yeah, I was a staunch Walker fan, ‘til he started dancing around on amnesty. I also have a problem with Walker going into the carnival pitch-man polical harangue when he gets behind the podium. Tone it down! Don’t slap my back.

Making the move to Kruz was easy. Cruz sticks to his guns, whoever he’s facing. And he’s sincere, for real.

Should he falter somehow, I’ll join forces with you and Walker.

Actually, it was just under a day. I donated after 12 am when he announced online.
Cruz was on an interview that evening...and said they’d received over a million in small contributions.
