I think with the 30-day notice thing...it’s obvious that law won’t settle this issue. So, my suggestion....if any President avoids the 30-day notice, then render Air Force One grounded for 30 days. That would get the attention of the White House real quick. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Republican or Democrat....let them sit in DC for four weeks after they screw up.

It is becoming undeniable that his administration is either allowing or helping ISIS and Al Qaeda to take over entire countries in the Middle East. Our flaccid response is proof positive of Obama's desires in the region.

Could Bergdahl not quote the First Amendment which protects his right to desert because of his freedom of expression or opinion?
I am not a lawyer, but the 1st Amendment often appears to be an open ended right because it does not stipulate the consequences of a personal action, whether performed rightly or wrongly.
I served my country faithfully and honorably, and never had any intention to desert, but Bergdahl’s situation makes me think out loud.
