HERMOSILLO, Mexico (AP) A young Mexican who urgently needs a heart and liver transplant has twice been denied a U.S. visa to go to the Mayo Clinic for treatment, he and his family said Wednesday.
Jose Chua Lopez, 20, was born with a heart defect and could die if he doesnt receive the transplants, said his mother, Myra Lopez Martinez.
My world has fallen down, Chua said. This needs to be fixed quickly.

only criminals need apply.
And of course Americans should pay for it.
But I thought that the healthcare here sucked. They should go to Cuba for first rate care.

Visa? Who needs a stinking Visa to enter from Mexico?
Mexico has Socialist healthcare...isn’t that supposed to be the best/s
Wouldn’t / shouldn’t American citizens be first in line for these transplants.
When the U.S. becomes Mexico, where will all of these undocumented Mayans go?
Talk to Carlos Slim
Why does he have to come here? They have at least one modern hospital in Mexico City. Mexico City is a modern city.
If they don’t have qualified surgeons there, let the American surgeons donate their free services if that’s what they want to do there in Mexico City with their flights paid for by some rich mexican. The anti-rejection drugs can be donated by a willing manufacturer.
If they can’t find an American surgeon to do it for free, start shopping around in other countries.
There is no need for him to come here because we know he will never leave.
Charity begins at home.
How about the Mayo paying back the people in this country before they spread our money around the world...
Should have contacted the Clinton Foundation. They have raised billions and have some of it available (less exorbitant family salaries and administrative costs, political slush fund expenses, cost of doing business payoffs, etc.) for charitable causes. If Slick Willy can’t handle it, maybe you should contact Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, or one of the other big Do Gooders and ask for a bag of money.
Afterward, the double transplant would cost around $2 million.”
America has now reached economic equality with Mexico, as now just like the average Mexican family, the average American family cannot afford two million dollars for a transplant.
Put-up job.
Yep.
Before long, they’ll all want to come here for their healthcare and we’ll be picking up the tab.
Jose, we will all die one day. You will just die younger than most.
And the American who will go without a heart transplant doesn’t matter because???
Mexico have their own organ banks that are available only for Mexican born citizens. Foreigners, even if the person is a legal resident of Mexico, he or she can not apply for an organ transplant from those banks. Furthermore, Mexico has top rated hospitals and first class surgeons most of them graduated or received trained in U.S.
In the other hand, when a foreign person come to U.S. legally or illegally only to received an organ transplant, another American or legally resident waiting for the same organ transplant will die.
You can always find a sob story from an individual, and use it to justify mass lawbreaking by battalions of compatriots.
Why is the US taxpayer repeatedly on the hook for every malady that befalls every person in the third world?
I can barely support myself these days...
